When a dealer tech replaces the front wheel, would you expect them to have to make any changes to the suspension settings? Mine seems a little soft ( I rode to work so I can't check the settings until 11 pm). It's so soft they will compress 1-2 inches when I close the high-side hard bag. It may have always been that way, but I think I would have noticed it. I haven't ridden much since I got it back after a September low-side. Appreciate any input |

I can't think of any reason they would, but you never know. It's only about a 10 minute job to do the full adjustment; why not just go through it and make sure it's right? Merry Christmas! |

Once you set the damping screws mark them with a "Sharpie" so you can visually check them for movement as the tend to loosen ever so slightly. |

Adrian brings up a good point - record the suspension settings - either mark directly (sharpie) or in a notebook (you can have them a full turn off if you don't record them as so many turns from full stop) And it just doesn't make sense to think the shop would do anything extra for "free." Face it, any extra work they'd do they should charge you for or else tell you that they gave you a "free adjustment" or something like that. I doubt they did anything - especially since they don't have your weight and riding preferences. Call them to make sure but yeah, re-set the suspension on your own and record the settings as you "tune" the suspension. The most important tool in your toolbox is your notebook! |
