It has been fantastic! I am glad I got the '08. No regrets.

I have had mine for four weeks and it is an awesome bike.

I'm glad I waited for my dealership to find me an '08 instead of purchasing the '07 that I test drove. I might not have been able to tell the difference in most of the '08 changes, but the standard heated handgrips have been handy lately.

I have had my 08 for three weeks, and due to weather and holidays I have only had the chance to put 600 miles on the bike; but here are my impressions:

Incredible! I moved from a Honda ST1300 to the Uly with a great deal of concern that I was making the right decision, but since I really wanted the dual sport I went ahead. I am very glad I did. The Uly really shines from the asphalt to the dirt roads, especially 2 up. My wife says that it is smoother than the ST when it comes to the ride.

So I am very pleased with the bike. I am also very pleased with my dealer who really knows Buell. I would highly recommend it! No problems to report at this time. The high seat is taking a little time to get use to for my short legs (29" inseam), but it feels so good on the move.

I have moved from a smooth running sewing machine to a motorcycle and I haven't stopped grinning yet.

Perfect after less than a month. Great two-up bike. Went from 750lb in the Road King Custom to about 450 lb in the Uly. Love the 1203 motor with the light weight. Who would of thought a bike that handles so precisely and soaks up so much of the bad road bumps could track so solidly at speed. Overall simplicity of the machine is very refreshing. Still working on our mount/dismount procedures which are a little more difficult with the bags attached. I let Miriam get on first and slide back while still on the sidestand. Getting off we reverse and I get off first. Works for us ...

That has been the preferred mounting method for us in the "older/bigger" category for some time now. I haven't found anything better yet.

I'm glad to see a bunch of '08's out there making people grin the way the earlier Uly's have.

I'm now officially "harley-less" after trading my Ultra for the '08 Uly. This is quite possibly the perfect bike for me. I LOVE IT!
The plan is to sell the 12R but...

When mounting two up...I always get on the bike first, then have my passenger mount from the left side by putting their left foot on the peg, and swinging their right leg over while holding on to my shoulders.

I keep the bike balanced, but I also keep the sidestand down just in case I loose footing.

Chad,
You must have a "normal" size and younger passengers than the ones that I tote. My younger daughter and 11 year old grand daughter are the only ones that I can load that way.

I weigh in at about 240, my son is taller and weighs more than I do. He tried to mount after I got on one time and it was a near disaster. If they are "big", let them mount first.

Sounds like no major or MINOR issues with the 08, my dealer called me and dropped the price of his Brand New o6 to $8800! I told him I'm going with the 08..

He's going to be waiting to sell it for a long time at that price.

I have said it before and will continue to say it until proven otherwise.
This is with out a doubt the funnest, best handling, two wheels of hooligan grin producing motorcycle i have ever owned.
Even with some of the issues guys talk about I still think it is an outstanding motorcycle
I love mine look forward to every new ride.

How about run time for the fan? Is it on as often as the 06 07 models?

Holy crap, you have 11000 miles on an '08? They must have worked a lot of bugs out of them. Glad to hear you are having good luck with it.

Contrary to what some people think many of the Ulys out here have had little or no problems. Mine is amoung them I am happy to report. I am also happy to see I am not delusional and others have had that same good luck.

The '08's are highly over-rated... the '07's are a much better bike.. really!
