I will be doing my first ever track day this weekend. I have never owned a riding suit. All my gear is mix and match jackets and pants that don't zip together. I've also never been fond of leather. Since a suit is required for the track days, they have leather suits to rent at the track. What do you wear under them for comfort especially since they are rentals? Weather will be colder, what about warmth? Walmart has a rip-off of Under Armour. Shorts and a Long sleeve is under 30 smackers. | ||

Some UnderArmour-like stuff is the ticket. If you're truly talking cold (40s), then maybe some decent long underwear made for skiing would work well. General Track Day Tips: - relax - learn the race line - work on being smooth and consistent, not being fast - stay hydrated - ask for help/tips from coaches and control riders - better to graze all day than eat big (avoids food coma) - be polite on the track. If you have ANY doubt about making a clean pass, don't do it. | ||

I typically wear synthetics under my leathers. I have a pair of padded spandex bicycle shorts and a Patagonia capiline shirt. | ||

Thanks for the info guys. I'll check out Wally World for the under armour stuff. "work on being smooth and consistent, not being fast" That is my goal exactly. Owning this bike has actually diminished my skills and made me real jerky trying to handle it. All that riding with the tweaked swingarm really messed with my head and made me gun shy entering corners expecting the rear end to slide around. |
