The Mayer saddles are strictly built for the intended rider. Many factors go into their design. No two are the exact same. It would never work in a Round Robin unless the riders were very close in build and comfort choices.

"HD tried to super glue it but it broke back off right away."
Did they try this to be sneaky or just hold you over while a new one was on order?

BEWARE!!

There are two "Mayer" seat people.

One of the Mayer's has a very bad rep on other forums. The other is the polar opposite.

Use google wiesly before sending out a seat. I did a ton of "research" before sending out my seat. factors like service. time, and cost (duh) played into the decision. The Mayer option looked attractive however the whole "good vs bad mayer" seemed weird esp seeing how they are supposedly brothers so I went to another seat service shop. Just to avoid screwing up and sending the seat to the "wrong" guy.

I sent a 06 seat to Sargent for their dish and widen service. Made a huge improvment. Was less than $300 and took less than two weeks.

+1 to custom seat option!! call any of the Meyers or travelcade people with a photo of you on the bike and how you want it ... you will get a fantastic comfortable seat!!!

cons: it takes 1-3 months to get your seat back, but winter is almost hear.

I looked at a number of custom seat people, and I ended up using Bill Mayer and not Rick Mayer. Bill had the seat for about 10 days, rick had a waiting list for 3 months he only does it part time. The brothers do not get along with each other. The dad who started the business sold it to Russel seating. Russel is still making the seat the way old man mayer started out. I recommend Bill Mayer to everyone, fast service
