I received a link to participate in an online survey for Buell. The survey is quite long and seems to be driving at what it would take to get you to purchase a sport bike. Seems like the kind of thing they would have done before the 1125 came out. Quite a bit about what other brands interest you and pros and cons of air cooled twin powered bikes v. water cooled multis.

There was an opportunity at the end to comment about what would keep you from buying another Buell in the future.

Anyone else participate? Thoughts?

I was sent a Mail in survey as well as the on-line one.
I told them all the good and bad.
Bike: good. Dealer: bad.

I got a mail survey but it seemed more geared to how the dealer is and some towards the product itself.

I received the survey in the mail and opted for the on-line version. Just like Desmo

Bike Good.
Dealer bad.

I wonder of Buell will see a pattern?

I couldn't knock my dealer to much. They were prompt passably knowledgeable but the wait for service was long and ordering parts or accy's is a joke always at least a two week wait. I'm not sure that is there fault though. I am still awaiting a part i ordered online instead of the dealer because i thought it would be quicker and so far it has been a month.

Me too.
Love the bike, hope the dealer burns down.
Very long survey, but worth it I hope.

Perhaps there are more than one survey out there. Mine was heavily weighted towards how I view the various manufacturers when it comes to sport bikes. Who do you think is innovative, who do you think has the best styling, does horsepower matter more than torque, do you feel like you need to ride your bike on the edge, etc.

There were a few open sections that invited comments so I talked about what I liked and didn't like about Buell and I pointed out the dealership issue, parts issue, and the refusal to deal with the heat problem in a meaningful way.

Took the survey. Made a mistake of picking a Duc as my next bike. Boy howdy, did that survey come back quick and ask why. Said performance. Buells should come with the performance kit of offered as an upgrade, like Lemans and GTO (cars). And of course dealers. The one around here (30m) sold them then dropped the Buell line, and can't order parts anymore. Can do some work on them, oil change, ck timing, etc, but part? Told me to order them and they will put them on if I have no warranty left. Sath

I just got a J.D. Powers survey on my Uly. The only slightly negative thing I had to say about the bike was regarding the heat/fan noise.

I also got the J.D. Powers survey. My dealer is actually pretty good. No complaints here.

Seems like there are at least 3 surveys from Buell. My on-line one was different from the mail-in version. And the J,D.Powers one was different still.
My on-line survey was 50/50 Buell questions and my perception of other brands.
I really hope the factory listens to our comments about some/most of the dealers. My dealer was not only incompetent but managed to damage bolts and body panels during the 1k service.
ALL service has been done by me since then.

Desmo,

The online survey you are describing sounds like the one I took. It was a lot about other manufacturers and if you answer that you like another mfg or engine configuration, it probes further and asks why.

I bought 2 new ones here in Oz,and have heard there is a survey going around here, probably won't get one though because I hammered the shit out of a HD rep at a bike show,he didn't like what I said about the "Mother"company, but I told him what I thought of it anyway.
