I took springs off of my friend's old honda shock. I used two ratcheting tiedowns to compress the spring off of the stop. after that, the collar came right off with no issues. They normally let it out for free when a person buys struts from them. Real easy and safe to use. Maybe it will work for the rear ULY shock. Take your rear shock to one of those places and see if what they have will work.
