Question after the fact since my new tires are on and wheels installed. Should any type of lube be used on the rear axle pinch bolts? I'm thinking not because they are to stay put. Just loosened the bolts to remove axle and torqued them again to service manual specs. Didn't like the creaking sound at the end but it's together now. Just had this swingarm replaced due to stripped drain plug and I'm gritting my teeth on everything. Thanks.

I put some never-seize on mine...Have you found the wrench Buell gave you in the tool kit to loosen them? Joke.....

I don't use anti seize on my pinch bolts.

The manual doesn't state the use of it and there isn't a tremendous amount of torque on them. (40 lbs rear and 20 lbs front if I recall correctly).

I do however use a lot (more than I need) of anti seize on the whole axle. I even rub a thin coat on the inside of the bearings.

I've done three tire changes in the last two years and so far no problems.
