My Uly with 34K has starting problems...For several months when I push the starter button the starter engages motor, hesitates, then turns the motor over and it starts and runs fine. Like it has too much compression (not the case)...Yesterday it took to hits of the starter to turn the motor over, then the trip meters all reset to zero......Bad battery?, bad starter?, loose wire? Cables are tight at battery. Inquiring mind wants to know...

this was happening to me and it turned out to be a bad battery. Make sure you charge up your new battery. My new one from the Buell dealer had been sitting long enough that right when it was installed, it didn't fix the problem and that led to more diagnosis (unneccessary) that could have been avoided by just topping off the battery before install. Good luck!
