Metz M-3's, any opinions? I have an 06 Uly and ride the streets 99% , gravel road only when forced. Looking for a sticky tire with fair milage, more performance desired wet and dry. Tennessee roads tend to be curvey, hit the Dragon on occasion and feel the stocker's compromise too much too really trust.

I don't see any reason not to use them. I have the Avon Storm St's on mine. I ran the Azaros previous to that and recently used Diablo Stradas. The dual compound touring tires are great. An even higher performance street tire would be even better.

I've been looking at the Mich Pilot Road 2's also, look like a good high performance sport-touring tire. Anyone using these?

I just installed my second M3 on my Uly. First one would still pass inspection but I replaced it for fresh rubber on trackday. First one had 4K miles on it when replaced. Probably could have gotten to 6k or maybe more on it.

Key is to keep the pressure high. The Metzler rep told me to start at about 41 psi (cold) and if not happy slowly drop the pressure while testing. He says dropping 1 psi equals about 1k reduced mileage. I am running about 40.5 and 39.5 and it seems ok for me.

I would like to hear some others comment on the M3.

After some internet searching and reading on the different tires available I opted to go Mich Pilot Power 2CT. They are dual compound in the supersport catagory, supposedly pretty good wet or dry. Don't know about milege, but thats secondary to performance anyway. Look more at milege on the V-Rod and performance on the Uly , but that fat tired V-Rod handles better than most would think, just not in the league with sportbikes.
