It is also a bitch to take off, even if you remember the pinch bolt, if the damn tech doesn't coat the pinched part with any type of anti seize and you have to put a hitch receiver in your already large half inch drive socket wrench to break the goddamn thing loose! I am referring to the last time I had my rear tire changed and I just brought the bike to the shop. This time I am just bringing a new tire and the wheel to the shop! I have learned my lesson. And thanks buell for making drive train tension and wheel alignment 2 more things I don't have to worry about when switching the rear :-) | ||

Its also a bitch to install if you are putting on a new belt for "insurance" before a long ride and want to take the 35K one for a spare and the new one is just THAT MUCH shorter than the nicely worn-in old one and you can't quite get the axle in far enough to engage the threads. Whew! How's that for a run on sentence? (Resolution: have wife brace left side of swing arm with foot while you push the axle like hell and turning at the same time (all nicely coated in anti-sieze, of course)). | ||

Try taking it off when your swingarm is tweaked and there was no Anti-seize on it. That was my pain. She is back today with a new rear end and so far seems right. I will get a good ride in tomorrow to really test it out. |
