Does anyone know of an aftermarket fender eliminator for the Uly? Is a fender eliminator even possible with the seat lock built into the rear fender? |

Trojan Horse (one of the site sponsors) has one available. http://www.britnett-carver.co.uk/trojanhorse/prods /185.html |

Different strokes, but I don't think my Uly has ENOUGH fender front or rear. I'd be happy with 180deg of fender at each end. |

Thanks Treadmarks, that'll do! Some of those 'aggressive' parts on the britnett-carver website look really silly. The 3 color orange-black-white leaves nothing left to argue about when it comes to which color is the fastest...which is naturally Barricade Orange. I'm wondering what the heck that flyscreen with the air dams is all about. |

Hey Treadmarks...have you had any problems with stress cracks where the turn signal tabs are bent ninety degrees? I have a similar bracket made from aluminum on the tail of my B12 (purchased from eBay). It has developed cracks in the bends. Tipsy |

Tipsy, It looks like Treadmarks has a pretty good sized radius in the corners of the 90* bend. If you use too tight of a radius (or none at all !), it will start to crack pretty quick. |

"Different strokes, but I don't think my Uly has ENOUGH fender front or rear. " I like what you have done Treadmarks, but I have to agree with Xbimmer... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/192837/Exte nder3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/192837/Exte nder2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/192837/Exte nder1.jpg I know, old plate, and yes, it's not my garage (hence how dirty it is!) That is the mock up really, just made it with hand tools, but I think I like the look of it. Should be even better if I can get real metal working tools, and after a couple coats of black paint. (The orange doesn't deserve to get mud on it :P) The problem for me with the fender eliminator is mainly mud and the lack of a place to mount my camera. Other than that, I love your eliminator Treadmarks. And thanks for the idea of making this one (Message edited by de50man on September 28, 2007) |

Hey Treadmarks...have you had any problems with stress cracks where the turn signal tabs are bent ninety degrees? Hi Mike. No problems with cracks yet. If you use a good grade of aluminum and do a progressive bend you will less likely to encounter cracks. If you bend it too far and try to bend it back, that is where you will see the most cracks. |
