I received my hand grip heater but have never taken off any grips. How do you remove them and do I have to glue them back on. The instructions say to use weather strip adhesive when putting them back on. I also need to know did you put them on the bars on the throttle side or on the plastic tube the grip is over? Thanks John |

Normally, to remove a grip you would just cut it off but you want to re-use the grip so... You will need to soak the grip in hot water for a minute or two. This can be done by actually laying the bike over far enough for the grip to be submerged in a pan of hot water. Pull the grip off from the inside, not from the end. Twisting it some may help. |

If you have an air compressor (tank style-not a little auto pump) it makes the job extremely easy. Just use a blast of 90psi air between the grip and bar and the grip will slide off on a cushion of air. Almost seems like magic. |

I was just about to suggest the compressed air- works great on MTBike grips, too. I've used the mylar heaters on my Firebolt and loved 'em. Anyone have any sources or ideas for the OE switch on the 08s? No who the manufacturer is for Buell's swtichgear? My 06 has a blank in the right side just begging for a stock-style switch... -Mike |

I have a tank compressor. I will fire it right up. Thanks |

Take this opportunity to switch to Buell traction grips if you haven't already. Much more comfortable than the stockers. |

Really, traction grips? I do find these grips a bit sore on my right hand after a few hours riding. My palm will start to cramp a bit and my thumb just doesn't get comfortable. I just live with it. I've never had grips I thought were comfortable. |

I love my Traction grips and highly recommend them, especially if coming from 1-in H-D bars. --Sean |

Yep, I got some cramping with the stock grips as well. The traction grips are much better. They have more padding and a wider diameter. Well worth the $15. |

If you haven't installed the mylar heaters yet, you might want to look at the Polly cartridge heaters (got mine from Andy). Nothing moving (to break) and nothing getting squashed, and they work great. You need to open up the end of your grips to install them (I have a 9sx, so I had them opened anyway), but from then on they never move and you never have to mess with grips. "Polly Heaters... it's only cold when you wave." |

I should have checked the cost of the polly heaters, I thought they were a lot more. Anyone actually have their mylar tape heaters break? I ordered some traction grips today, a bit over 17 dollars after tax and all. |

My wife has the mylars on her 9sl and I have the polly heaters on my uly (from Andy). I actually prefer the mylars-they heat up faster and do not get soo hot. They are definately more money though...and after four years of use the left one gave up the ghost. Different strokes.... |
