Let my son ride my ULY yesterday for the first and last time until he's taller and stronger (he's only 15). BIG Mistake. Never been down in almost 10,000 miles and he drops it to the left making a u-turn. I weeped. Bent the clutch lever and broke the left front turnsignal. Anybody know how much these items are going to cost to replace??
I'm also going to take out that plastic spacer that extends the front turn signals out so far. Probably wouldn't have even touched the parking lot pavement if they had been shorter.

I took off the clutch lever this morning and heated it up in a vice with a propane torch and bent it back to shape as best I could. Then spray painted it flat black. Not perfect like it WAS but acceptable for now. I'd appreciate a comeback on prices for these items. Thanks.

Not expensive at all.

Left turn signal - Y0503.K - $11.85
Clutch lever kit - N1102.1AJ - $29.95

Appleton had these items in stock when we needed them earlier this year.

Clutch lever- N1102.1AJ $29.95
Turn signal- Y0503.K $11.85

Hope that helps. Those are new prices. If you ordered from me I can give you a 10% Badweb discount. Pretty commonly replaced parts, that's why they are cheap.

I had one advantage - I just looked at the spreadsheet of all the parts we had to order just a few months ago!

Ive dropped mine about a dozen times, mostly offroading, but i had a few parking lot pavement fights, but ive only busted the $2 turn signal tinted outer lens cover thing. My dealer now keeps them in stock for me : )

I'll tell ya... that's one of the things I like most about Buell's. Parts are VERY reasonable. The same parts for a Honda would be over $100.00 for sure.

Thanks for the quick answer to my question. Those parts aren't outrageously priced at all. I get 10% off at my dealer. If they don't have it on hand it usually only takes a few days to get things.

Electraglider if you want to shorten the front stalks you might do what I did and buy a couple rear signals.

I haven't installed them in the front yet and I may be wrong but the mounting tubes are shorter and won't intrude into all that stuff up front as much.

They reverse like my old Hondas, LR/RF and RR/LF, at least that's how the boxes are marked.

When you re-assemble using the new turn signal, can I suggest what a buddy of mine did for his Uly? Re-position the spacer to the inside of the front module, thus giving you 'stubby' front turn signals.

He told me about this trick AFTER I had spent $$$ on aftermarket short turn signals!

Just by rear turn signals and mount them on the front, they will bolt up like stock!

I shortened the front right turn signal today. I bought an 8mm x 1.0mm die to put more threads on the hollow bolt that the wires are threaded through and then cut it in two.
The first photo shows the two rubbery standoff pieces. The hollow threaded rod has been modified and is shown screwed into the smaller standoff from the broken turn signal ( for photo purpose only ). The larger fatter piece will not be used because that is what make the turn signal stick out so far in the first place.

The second through forth photos show the finished mod to the unbroken right front turn signal.
You have to take apart the lens assembly so that you can pull the wires out of light and then pull the wires through the hollow threaded rod so it can be shortened after threading with the die.
Then you screw the shortened hollow threaded rod back into the turn signal without the larger standoff. It's the larger rubbery standoff in the top photo.
Pull the wires back through and connect to bulb area and then reassemble the lens assembly.
Put the wires through the turn signal hole in the side of the fairing and then attach the turn signal to the fairing with the washer and nut and hollow threaded rod.

Then reconnect the two bullet style connectors in the fairing. Turn key on to make sure it still works. It does.
Now I have to buy the left side turn signal and do it all again except that I already have the modified other half of the hollow threaded rod.

Yes, my bike is filthy. Just got back from Kansas City Harley Factory Open House and the ULY is plastered with bugs and dirt. 400 mile ride.
The date is wrong on the photos because I changed the battery and forgot to reset the date stamp.

Electraglider, I did the same thing. Easy to do and still working fine after 2,500 miles.

I took Xbimmer's advice and replaced the broken left front signal with a new right rear turn signal. The right rear has the weep hole in the correct place when it is used as a stubby front left. Cost was $11.25 with my 10% discount (tax included).

I too made the mistake of lending my bike out to easily. At the time it was a 94 VFR. The poor guy went wide in a corner due to lack of experience and slide down a gravel embankment. To replace 75% of the plastic on the bike plus the gas tank it would have cost me about $8900.00. Needless to say the insurance company scrapped a perfectly good bike! (which I bought back for 1000.00 fixed-up and rode for another 4 years!
All this to say indeed Buell parts are inexpensive, and don't just lend your bike to anybody!
