Well...actually yesterday (September 8).

The Uly content here is that since buying my '06 Uly on September 30, 2005 the last two years have been some of the most enjoyable in my life.

Along with Mrs. Greg and the four Gregsters, the 35K miles I've put on the Uly have kept a smile on my face for more time than I could believe.

Virtually no problems with the bike; been across the country and on some pretty gnarly dirt roads (e.g. at ADVRider WestFest 07).

In the vein of "you don't quit riding because you get old, you get old because you quit riding" I hope to keep this same Uly as long as possible. I do my own wrenching (minimal on the Uly, of course) and just keep getting amazed with what this bike can do and how reliable and enjoyable it's been.

Thanks, Erik & Co. for making my last two years some of the happiest ever!

Well HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Funny though.....at fifty I feel the same as you.....about the Ulysses. It truly has enhanced my second midlife crisis.

Happy Birthday kid!

It just keeps getting better. In two years you can apply for Social Security if you were a contributor.

If you wait until you're 65 to draw Social Security (that gets you a higher amount), you'll have to live 13 years more to make up for what you would have already received if you had started drawing it at age 62.

Getting old is easy, just hang around and enjoy the ride. And it is much better than the alternative!

Ride on!

Jack

Happy Birthday Dr. Greg.

Long time, no talk. At least you keep racking up the miles. Maybe we'll get a chance to ride together again someday. Any word on your brakes yet? I had the pulsing like others and sticky spot like you spoke of with the stock pads at about 4000 miles. I buffed the rotors with emery cloth and switched to the Lyndalls. Haven't had any problems since. Did you break the glaze on your rotors before installing the Lyndalls?

Happy 60th young man. Hopefully your honey celebrated it with you in the correct fashion. On the back of the ULY I mean.

Hi Joel; well I made an appointment at TB too look at my front rotor on 9/20. I've tried a little moderate buffing but the sticky spot comes back. I'm hesitant to let them touch it, but my hope is that the tech will feel the problem, say "new rotor" and I'll get one under warranty.

Otherwise Uly has been great. And I'm one of those guys that prefers to ride alone, so don't feel bad about not hooking up with me. I guess I've had too many group rides that degenerated...

Well Happy belated birthday. You've got 11 years on me but my true inspiration lives in Georgia. He turned 75 in August and when I called him yesterday he had just got back from a ride. He usually pushes those kids through the corners on his Ultra!! So there you go, your not so old now are you!?
