okay for those of you who have installed the Stebel, how was the wiring done,1 Did you just plug & play,or 2 did you wire in the Relay as well?reason being I just plugged and played mine today,in other words took out the stock and just plugged in the air horn, works fine, but was just wondering about long term.

i did the same works fine w/ key on ,but when i'm riding and lay on the horn fuse blow no horn/brake light will end up installing the relay to prevent that from happening again just to be safe don't want to risk damage/fire

THe Stebel draws way more amps than the stock horn. Use the relay and you won't have any problems.

Why not run a separate source with an appropriate fuse?

Installed the Stebel and absolutely love the function and it fits well behind the screen. It is a must to use the relay and to make one home-run for power to the battery with the supplied heavy gauge wire which has a fuseable link. This device creates a quick and strong surge on power when you push the button!

I went out and bought a black wire for the power run instead of the supplied red so it would be less noticeable on the routing by the steering neck. Plus, the supplied power wire is just a little to short imho.

Here is mine installed under the flyscreen.. Disregard all of the extra wiring, it is for the PIAA's and HID kit.

I ended up using 12ga wire with a fuse near the battery run alongside the factory harness.

For the relay, you can use the horn wires for switching the relay. I ended up using the Stebel wiring diagram that had the horn as a replacement for the stock meep meep.

Sound bite won't do it justice - used to have one of these on my GS, and man oh man they are LOUD. Never, ever, install in your garage and then give it that initial "test beep". Things get hurt and broken that way (as in yourself as you fall back into the tool chest in defense of the noise holding your bleeding eardrums)...

DO NOT Plug n PLAY!!!

use the wiring harness they Supply with 20 amp (inline) Fuse n Relay 30 amp thingo.. Horn MUST run from Battery direct.

Oh n btw.. ya MUST Mount it VERTICALLY.. or It'll FAIL... eventually... n IT DOES FIT in an Ulysses.. Bracket Needs ta be Made up though.. SUPER TIGHT FIT, but Fairly Easy.

ALSO< ya can Shave a Bit off the Plastic Exit Flange of the Horn ta Make said Fittment Easier.

BIG Sound! and best of all - with a little work and shoving, fits behind my '04 12s' windscreen.

1) pry off horn from compressor,
2) saw off unused mounting tabs from horn & compressor,
3) run 5/16" fuel line from compressor to a barbed 90 deg fitting cemented into horn (careful not to drip too much pvc cement into horn or it no worky),
4) remove old horn mtg bracket, hammer flat, reinstall in housing (angled to the left when facing front of bike) with same bolt, to hold compressor,
5) mount compressor to reworked bracket w/ a hose clamp and horn next to it in middle of housing - (helps to use a 8# sledge)
6) mount horn relay underneath housing to the bolt that attaches the reworked horn bracket - you can even use the old nut that affixed the factory horn to the bracket for this.
7) run fused + power line back to battery and -line back to side bolt under seat

You can sometimes find these Stebel horns mis-listed cheaper on Ebay as "Ultimate Blast" horns (printed in big print on Stebel Nautilus package!)

Every $ helps when you have to buy a second one 'cause I screwed up!!
