Mattwhite: If you want the latch fixed pronto, I can get it overnighted to intercept you in your travels. If you need it, just drop me a note and be certain to put Uly Latch in the subject. Have a fun and safe trip, Court |

Thanks for the offers of help, but I decided the bungee and tie-down strap work well enough that I don't want to mess with it until I get home. I'll let the dealer take care of it. |

Guess I jinxed myself. Fan failed at 29500 in the middle of a trip. Thanks to Al @ American Sportbike and UPS and I'm good to go again. |

My fan was replaced at the 5K service, although it was going bad from about 4K. I just didn't realize that the erratic speed meant imminent failure. Bike build date was Dec 05, put into service in August 06. I'd done about 10 miles off-road. |

Mine went goodbye at ~3500 miles. It didn't fail completely, but started to sound like it was about to throw a bearing - sounded like it had a rock in it. Although originally dismissive when I told the dealer ("They are just loud fans.") they replaced it under warranty as soon as they heard it. |

My fan now has over 10 grand on it and sounds ok. I know that it will eventually fail. Hopefully before March 31, 2008. |
