More of a curiosity than an issue. Anyone running any variety of RSS get a whole bunch more warm air flow over on the left side? I put mine on for looks more than anything else, but the oddest part is that the amount of warm to hot air pushed out through the gap between the seat, air box cover, and frame was incredible. Stands to reason, but wow. I've always run Odies blankets, and a modified version of the same blanket material down the right side gap between the cover and seat to block and direct that air flow. That has been in place since day two of ownership. But I had to put another over that left gap to keep from roasting my left thigh. I didn't expect that amount of forced air. Otherwise, the RSS has completely stopped the fan while at speed. The only time it runs that I can tell (100% ear protection) is when I'm stopped at a light for a while, or stop and shut down the engine. Before anyone starts, again this was for looks primarily. Obsessive that way. Life must balance, hence two wheels under me. I have never been bothered with my Mr. Fusion Audible Oxygen Movement Device. That kind of noise I can live with. Thanks y'all. I have not noticed much of an increase, though now that you mention it my right thigh does get a bit toasty until the fan kicks on - but it always has. I am running the Dutch RSS and an '08 deflector on the right only (I have a charge connector on the left that would have to be moved). I still get the fan to kick on, but much less. |
