We all know the Black Uly is the fastest Some people think the Orange Uly looks the best they would be wrong Black Uly rules.. But what about Mr. Blue?? Will it run cooler because its blue? Does being blue make it depressed? Will we be able to see it on a clear day with a blue sky?... |

Actually, Orange is a pigment not a color. The pigment causes mainly the same color of light to be reflected into the eye. So if you want to get really technical, Orange is a single pigment. Black contains all possible pigments mixed into one. Blue, well it's just another single pigment. |

Well Mr. Ft Bstrd, then by having all the pigments mixed into one, black is clearly heavier. Therefore Orange is lighter by virtue of being a single pigment, improving the power to weight ratio, thus certainly making the Orange Uly faster. Thanks for bringing some objective science into this argument. I think the case is closed. |

Ft_bstrd is right all the colors mixed up make black... thats why Orange Uly's are faster, they are not weighted down with all the extra colors |

I guess the Black Uly lovers are much more fun with all the variety in their color. One pigment people must be boring, right? |

Well Mr. Ft Bstrd, then by having all the pigments mixed into one, black is clearly heavier. With the higher pigment content making the black, black has greater density not weight. As a result, black Uly's exert a higher gravitational force on the road ahead pulling the more dense black Uly's down the road at a greater velocity. Black Uly's are like their own maglev systems sling-shotting by the lighter, less dense single pigment Uly's. The side effect is that Uly's attract more bugs, birds, cats, dogs, deer, cows, etc. Don't believe me. Take two equally clean Uly's of differing colors for a ride. The black Uly will always come home with more bug carcasses stuck to the front. |

No, no, you all have it wrong!!! You need to double check your data. White light is all the colors mixed, black is a reflection of no colors. Therefor white is the slowest and black is the fastest as it has the least reflected light slowing it down! All the others are just somewhere in between. |

No, no Unibear. That is a correct statement when you are talking about LIGHT. When you are speaking of paint or colored plastics, the color is achieved by adding colors to achieve the correct pigment. Black is all of the colors combined. Don't believe me? Go to a paint store and ask them to make white by mixing equal parts of every color they have. The result will be...... Faster Black! |

Oh I believe and agree with you FB. Notice that I was talking about REFLECTED light? Pigments absorb color so black absorbs all and has more energy while white reflects all and is slowed by all that light bouncing off it! Black IS faster! |

BLACK is for people who live a dull, monochromatic existence. ORANGE is for bright, warm and expressive people. BLUE, now, is a nice color, but kind of depressing. |

Blue is the alternative color for all the slow orange folks to try before giving in. The fact is black is faster. |

See Wolf! Black bikes have sufficient density to invoke an Einstein-Rosen Bridge creating a temporal worm hole. Be careful, though. You might come back from a ride and you wife will have aged 25 years while you were gone. |

Black bikes make great filler for ditches. The faster ORANGE ones can more easily be recovered because they can be seen at great distances(right Carlos?). You riders of the black ones, you got a reason to hide? Or maybe you are weening yourself off the need a Sportster? At least you are over chrome...or are you? Farkle, Farkle. UsedUlyX, is that you siding for the color of fertilized mulch? By the way orange, the color, is a combination of the base color red and yellow pigments. So if you stay at a first class hotel and you are a pig, the maid cleans the room, you don't leave her a tip, but she leaves a mint on the pillow, does that make a true pig-mint? Optically, black is the near absence of reflectivity in the visible spectrum. However, from a thermal emissivity standpoint (IR), all of our bikes look pretty similar. So, essentially, to a FLIR system, we all look the same. ...so, can't we all just get along? Which color is really faster? Well, in the RF spectrum, we all look the same; it's just that some of us have a different doppler shift. ...so, again, can't we all just get along? |
