06 seat should fit. It's the same as the 07.

No bolt on ang go lights. You have to fab a bracket. Search for light bar on here. There's plenty of threads on it.

I'm making one out of some 1" angle aluminum (3/16" thick) and another out of 1 1/4" steel angle by 1/8" thick.

I'm 6'4 and I don't feel like I need the extra inch or whatever it is. I have the stock seat on my '07.

I do mostly longish days with the Uly. So
I thought about looking into an 06 seat since it is taller and i'm taller and all that, but then i heard a LOT of reports about that seam on the '06 causing irritation.

So what I'm suggesting is that you give the stock seat a try before spending money on an '06 seat.

I'm only 6'1" and the seam hasn't been a problem for me.

B18c5,
I did not change the windscreen. I have not ruled it out, but the stock has been fine for me. My Uly seems to like to cruise at 80 MPH and it has yet to be a problem. Of course you get some wind on your head but it is nice clean air free of buffeting.

edit:
P.S. Congrats on the new bike! That Thrust Blue is totally beautiful.

If after you try the new style seat and you don't like it just post on Badweb. Plenty of slightly used 06 seats lying about that can be had for far cheaper than a new one.

The 06 stock seat is much more comphy for long trips but the 07 is handy around town if you are under 6'. My .02 worth.

I agree with Adrian_8. I use the 07 around town and with my wife. The 07 seat also has a textured surface on the passenger area so my wife slides less when I make and unexpected stop. On long trips I can get 2-3 more hours of riding with the 06 stock seat.

At 6'2" the tall seat also works just right with the Buell tall windshield. At least for me that is. Most posters I have seen dont like the Buell tall WS.

I went to the HD dealer with Gotj to show him the new blue 08 that came in last week and it was gone. Go Buell!

I am 6'5" and went with the ZG Sport Touring screen. It is a little noisier than stock for me but I have much less neck fatigue now after extended slab running.

One thing about the 07/08 seat is that it allows you to slide back about 1 1/2" compared to the 06 seat. I prefer the extra setback because it opens up the angle of my knees for more long-ride comfort. I have pretty long arms too so it makes it feasible.

I forgot to mention that I liked the setback so well that I had 1" of padding put under the foam of the 07 to get back the seat-to-footpeg distance that the 06 offers. I'm only 6'1" so I would imagine that this would be a feasible solution for you.

I like the set back also. I find it eases the strain on the back side and my back for long rides. I would actually like another inch or two of set back.

I went with the Motolight set up. Motolight send you the fork mounting brackets, wiring harness, relay. Nothing else needed and quality is top notch.

After about five years of use,(transferred them from a Road Glide) I had to replace one bulb. Motolight replaced it for $7.50 plus shipping.

I also went with a bead set up to overcome that '06 seam on long rides. www.beadrider.com Cost was around $25.

Bienhoabob, I have tried the beads and they work fine with jeans, but when I go to my mesh riding pants, I slide all over. The only solution I've seen is to put another layer on such as sheepskin. Any other ideas or do your beads have more grip?

Bienhoabob,
With those motolights you just peeled off the reflectors? How do those straps fit?

Gotj,
I don't have the mesh riding pants so can't comment on them vs. beads.
With Joe Rocket pants, I noticed the sliding initially, but the more I rode with them, the less I notice it. I like them on hot days. They provide some air circulation.
