Just got back from ADVrider.com "WestFest07" rally in Sipapu, NM. Had a great time, and Ulysses acquitted himself well in the company of more dirt-oriented bikes. Got into some pretty rocky two-track and the darn Uly just charges right on through with the best of 'em.

Anyway, the rear tire probably won't last 1,000 miles; in fact, not much more than half that. It works great both on and off road, just not enough lifetime.

So...I have a new Avon Storm rear at home (which I don't like as well as the Azaro) which I'll mount next weekend (along with the old Azaro front), then I might try Distanzias next. I saw a 160/60 mounted and it didn't look too bad.

Can you post a pic of the rear tire wear and exact mileage you got when you change it out?

Yes, I can do that. The rear is pretty chewed up on the edges and getting thin in the middle. I'll take a closeup or two.

I think you will like the distanzias, and they will wear much much longer.

I have the 160/60 distanzia on the rear, and the profile is very similar, and I havent noticed any problems at all with handling. I like 'em. I also have a set on an airhead BMW, and they work great on it as well.

You may be disappointed in the pics. The rear tire does have more tread left (but not too much in the middle; it's close to the wear bars), however I have to install new rear wheel bearings. While the wheel is off I'm swapping the rear out for an Avon Storm which I already had purchased.

I would estimate the max life of the Pro-Xtreme rear would be in the neighborhood of 1000 miles. And I get VERY good mileage out of tires (at least compared to some people) This is a SOFT tire, folks...

Oh yeah, I'm leaving the Pro-Xtreme front tire on; it's got lots of tread left (I know, shouldn't mix tires).

Lorazepan, you still have the Uly don't you?If so how does the 160 rear profile look on the rim,I have mentioned this to some tyre guys here in Oz and they shudder when I say I want to put a narrower tyre on the 180 rim.

Yes, I still have my Uly. I do have the distanzia on there, and it works fine. I am not the only one running them, and as far as I know there is no problem with running them on the bike.
