Just wondering if the race ECM will work on it or if you need one. Does anyone know.. Oh yeah looking at the drummer or micron exhaust system...   Hughlysses Posted on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 - 08:03 pm:        You definitely want the race ECM or a Direct Link tuned stock ECM to make the most of your new exhaust, but I wonder if there is a race ECM for the 08's yet. It doesn't appear the listing for the race ECM's has been updated at buell.com (they're listed to fit 03 or 04 and up XB's) but it seems certain the new fuel injection system will require a new ECM.   Terrible1one3 Posted on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 - 08:26 pm:        Get a drummer, run it with the stock ECM until people figure out the new stuff.   Kip Posted on Thursday, July 26, 2007 - 09:06 am:        I've had 2 race ECMs and I did not like them at all. My bike would not idle like normal. I had 4 different TPS resets done still no help. It did seem like maybe a little more HP with the race ECM but not enough to make me forget about the idle. Not having to do tps resets means a different program. Maybe someone in the know will chime in, the injectors and intake are not compatible with the earlier models.   Stevenknapp Posted on Thursday, July 26, 2007 - 04:47 pm:        The old race ECM will NOT work with the 08 bikes. There are too many new features the I/O on the older box I'd almost guarantee does not support it and be pin-by-pin compatable. I ask the harley shop and they didn't have clue. about the exhaust I had a drummer on my 06 uly and love it. Its nice to have kevin drummer shop just around 30 mins from the house or so..
