Can't say that I've seen this.. until Sunday. We were out riding, bike was running great.. until I had a sudden loss in power and a serious increase in the engine noise level. Pulled it over and started inspecting everything... turns out the plug in the front cylinder has come completely out  . Once everything cooled off enough to touch I was able to get the plug back in.. however it didn't feel right, but I made it back home. That night I try to put in a new plug.. as I put it in the hole it basically dropped right in.. no turning nothing..obviously not good. So, I had the dealer do the 10K (at 12K), I'm now at about 19.5K and had no other issues until this happened. I can only think that the tech somehow damaged the threads or did not install the plug properly??? Bad news is I now have to have a new front cylinder, the good news is dealer said it is covered under warranty... no problems. Just curious if anyone else has ever seen this happen.. and possible causes?? | ||

Sounds like the plug was cross threaded. I had the same thing happen on an old VW Beetle. They were notoriously hard to change the rear plugs on. Glad the dealer is stepping up. | ||

I changed out the original plugs on mine and found the front one to be scary loose, little more than finger tight. |
