Hello all, First post! Ordered my new 2008 Uly on 7/13... was told 6 to 8 weeks. They said they have a Blue one coming in any day now but I'm waiting for the Orange.  | ||

Hopefully no one will find this too crude a question, but what are people paying for the '08? Are dealers willing to deal on ordered bikes..? Additionally, is anyone yet seeing any discounting or dealer incentives on the '07s? If so, what are some of the deals you're seeing? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!! | ||

The dealer I ordered my 08 ulysses has two 07 and they want 11495.00 OTD. I didn't think that was alot so I'm still waiting on the 08 | ||

11495 I thought was a bit high. Although that is about what I got mine for not counting trade in value. My dealer doesn't have a Uly now and hasn't since I bought mine, the decided to wait for the 08's to come in. I think I got a good deal since, in my town, someone else would have bought the Uly if I hadn't but I would think with all the changes on the 08 a dealer could sell an 07 for say 10800, now that is a good deal. Thanks for the input, Speedcrazy and Bertotti! Cycle Trader has listings for '07 Ulys ranging from $9,799 (possibly a demo bike?) to the full MSRP. Assuming a median dealer invoice price of $7,875 and a margin of 30%, I'm thinking a good deal on an '07 is going to be in the $10,250 range +/- $250(ex. set-up/delivery charges) depending on region. Anyone agree or is this pure conjecture on my part? Again, all input will be greatly appreciated!! | ||

Thanks, So I basically took your advice. Got tired of waiting for the Orange Uly so bought the Blue and immediately placed an order for the Orange parts. I picked up my new 2008 Uly last week and apart from some minor troubles it's been great. Breaking it in (about 350 miles so far) and having a great time with it.  The minor troubles: The wire form that holds the clutch cable away from the header snapped at 22 miles, cable melted some, I tied it back and my dealer overnighted a new cable & wire form and installed it while I waited. The other item was the Hepco bags needed some adjustment (missing bolts & rear pegs were hitting). (Message edited by 08uly on September 04, 2007) | ||

The clutch cable thing seems to happen quite a bit, but it hasn't happened to me yet in my 13,000 miles. If your interested in selling your blue plastics, let me know. I have black ones off my bike already and they are collecting dust. I switched to carbon fiber but after seeing pictures of the blue i've been lusting over it. |
