Does the TFI work with a stock pipe/air filter? It doesn't really say on the FAQ |

"Work" is a relative term, as it relates to the TFI. To kind of answer your question: yes, the TFI will connect and should not cause any problems with a stock pipe and filter. TFI can only add fuel, so making the engine too lean is not a possibility. A better inquiry would be, to state what it is you hope to gain or change with the TFI? If you are interested in my experiences with TFI over the last year. PM a daytime phone number and I'll give you a call. (Message edited by teeps on June 26, 2007) |

Basically I just want to know if I install the TFI on a stock bike, will it cure the pinging? Thanks! |

In another thread I proclaimed that TFI installed on my bike did not cure the pinging. Currently, my '06 Uly has the '07 airbox cover, '07 ECM programming, and a stock appearing higher flow muffler. I recently "retuned" the TFI by setting the "Idle(#1) and Cruise(#4)" pots to Dobek's recommended settings of 3 & 7:30 respectively. I set the "Accelerator Pump(#2) and Main Jet(#3)" pots to 5:30 & 6 respectively. Since adopting these settings, I have not heard my Uly ping. However, as I have mentioned in other threads, the pining event has been fickle, with my bike. |

Update to above: Just got back home from a hundred mile (round trip) ride to the Rock Store. Ambient temperature 85F. to 90F. Try as I might, I could not induce the Uly to ping, with TFI set as described above. |
