I have a new 06 Uly and when I bought it I ordered the bags and other goodies. Well, today I got the top bag(the guys at the dealership told my wife "you'd be amazed at how much can be packed in a box" when she questioned them on if that was all 3 bags...anyhoo, the manual they gave her was an 07. Will this work well enough or is this one more thing I have to exchange and wait for with these guys? Don't get me started on what theyve been telling me about hte short seat I ordered as well..

Thanks and sorry to vent!

Gug

Do not think there is enough difference between the two years to need to exchange. I know some have said if you order a parts manual get the 07 manual even if you have an 06. Other than that I am of little help.

Of course I read this post shortly after getting my 06 parts manual and running my grubby garage fingers all over it....some days your the dog some days your the hydrant.

Gugnheim - You might contact Iugradmark on here - he bought my new 07 Uly a few weeks ago and the dealer gave ME an 06 manual for the 07 bike but didn't realize it until I got the bike home 350 miles away. Iugradmark might work out an exchange with you. By the way, Rick Fordyce H-D/Buell in Riverside has absolutely refused to contact me regarding several issues I had with the purchase of the new Uly, including their failure to replace the 06 manual with an 07 manual, to complete all the paperwork with the DMV for registration, and their failure to give me all the documents I needed (certificate of origin required by the DMV). Also, the Rick Fordyce salesman I worked with TOLD me the BAS had been relocated per the recall (a question I knew to ask because of the great info on this forum). I took him at his word. Sorry about that Mark - I would have mentioned it had I known it hadn't been done!

Gugnheim, Did you order from Eastgate HD? I ordered the bags too but canceled after a couple of days opting to go with the soft luggage. Don't expect much from them and you'll be OK. I had a Sportster and they over filled the tranny fluid on the first service. When I took it back they said a bolt was loose and then dropped my bike when they test rode it. I ended up getting the excess fluid out myself. Check your left rear foot peg and see if there's oil on the inside of it. I found some there yesterday from an overflow tube. Wonder if it's from their setup. I've always found a good dealer and then ordered from their on-line shop for my BMW (A&S BMW). I'll probably do the same for the Buell.

The suspension settings are slightly different, but you can download the manual online (from Buell's website) and print out that page. That's what I did for my '06 manual after updating my Uly with the '07 front springs.

Thanks for the advice. Fast_eddie: yes, that's where I bought from. It's the next day and they still can't find the rest of my bags and have finally told me the short seat I ordered might be there in July. I heard from you guys that HD is having supply chain probs, otherwise I'd still be taking them at their 7-10 days line. As I'm still learning the bike, what's the little tube that sticks out on the left side of the bike behind the pass foot peg, it's got some fluid dripping out onto the plastic. What is that?
Ulytime: Yeah, when I picked up the bike and was inspecting it, several of the bolts under the end of the seat were unscrewed to the point of almost falling out... Really frustrated about the Buell dealers around here. Aces and Eights wouldn't give me a messenger bag from the promotion because I didn't have an "invitation" that they told me only cam e from Buell, and they don't allow test rides..so I was out of luck getting one.

Also, what's a link to the downloadable manual? Can't seem to find it.

Thanks all.

Gug

Try this:

http://www.buell.com/om/99477%2D06Y%5Fen/

It's the last link in the "Operation" section.

Good Luck!

ps. If you change the 06 in the link to an 07, you will get to the 2007 Ulysses manual.

I've decided to just keep the manual on advice, plus with the other horrors I experienced with the dealer today, I want to just get my remaining stuff on order and be done with them as soon as possible. Has anyone ordered a seat from Corbin and what was the turnaround time? I actually had the thought today and I know it was the pure blinding frustration at how my wife and I have been treated by service/parts that I regretted her buying this American bike as a present for me.

Thanks
Gug
