Disclaimer: I haven't had a good chance to look into this yet, but am throwing this out in case anyone has suggestions for where to look... I picked my bike up from the dealership last night after having the BAS recall, fan replacement, and turn-signal switch replacement done. Riding it home, I noticed that when decelerating (using the front brake) there is a pulsing grinding sound and feel that seems to be coming from the right rear wheel area. I'm thinking it might be a belt rubbing issue, and will look at that, but am wondering if there are other things I should look into. It seems odd that it's only on decel, but it could be that the sound and feel are overwhelmed by the engine when moving forward. I'll be looking at this tonight, but if anyone has any tips for me, I appreciate it. If it does turn out to be the belt rubbing, what kind of adjusting can/should be done? Tnx. P.S. In a perfect world, I would have turned around and taken it straight back, but since I picked it up at close, it wasn't an option... Plus, who knows if it would have come back even *worse* (it didn't grind when I dropped it off.) | ||

Fan loose? If they didnt touch the drivetrain why would you think its the belt? | ||

Try getting it up to speed, pull in the clutch, kill the engine on the kill switch and coast for a few hundred feet to see if you can hear the noise better. | ||

seems to be coming from the right wheel area. Are you riding a Uly? Mine doesn't have a right rear wheel.  You might just be hearing and feeling that infamous front brake problem. If you look things over and don't see a cover rubbing or something, try cleaning your front rotor with some brake cleaner on a rag(don't let it get on the powder coat). |
