11,000 miles of pure joy! I've been through 4 sets of tires, two sets of brakes, two recalls, three bank angle sensors, two fans, and a crap load of gas! Thank you Erik Buell for creating more fun on two wheels than should be legal! |

4 sets of tires in 11k miles seems excessive? I was reading strikingviking's posts on advrider and he was extolling the virtues of the Avon Gripsters. Saying he could get 9 - 10k out of a set... Anyone know if these come in a Uly friendly size? if anyone (of course you've all heard of him) hasn't seen it or heard of him... he's got some interesting stuff www.strikingviking.net Especially interesting is his "women from around the world" gallery... |

No on the gripsters. What can I say, I'm rough on tires. |

The avon Distanzia tires work well on my airhead, so I am going to give them a try on the Uly. The rear is not as large, but the profile looks the same, I will report in when I spoon them on. You run those soft tires dont ya fats? I have gotten 7k out of the Shinko Ravens, but they aren't very sticky or confidence inspiring. |

Ft_b Congrats on the anniversary? birthday? owner day?......what ever! My one year with the Uly day was May 5, and just under 15,000 very happy miles. I had a happy year and nine months with a City-X before that. I know the deal with your tire wear probably as well as anyone. If I rode mine all of the time like I do when ever I ride with you, I would be on my fifth rear tire and my third front. A lot of my riding is for business and is conservative back and forth stuff. But when I do hit the twisties the rate of wear certainly increases. I'm at nearly 16,000 and have a new Sync on the front and I am half way through tire number three on the rear. It seems to need rears at 6,000. |

I've been through 4 sets of tires That's how I keep up with Carlos' mileage on the bikes - what # set of tires are we on and is it time to order the next set. I never knew you had to budget tire money each month until he got bikes! Mine on the Suburban lasted 65,000 miles. I had NO idea about bikes tires! Glad you're enjoying your Uly. They are great bikes and bring some great people into your lives! Kristi

Congrats Fatty, I'll be at my 1 year anniversary on July 14th. While I don't get to put on the mileage most of you do, I do love every mile I put on. My Brother now has the chance to pick up an '06 demo dirt cheap and will most likely join our ranks soon too. |

FtB, I feel your tire purchase induced pain. 3K is the best I've seen to date. I'm going with some Tomahawks soon. |

Bigdaddy, You gonna come down for Buelltoberfest. I really want to get to meet you. Hope you'll come down and hang out with the C3 clan. I ride with a guy here that has used the Tomahawks. He says that they are fine. Nothing spectacular, but they are cheap. To help with my tire addiction, I have begun streetwalking. So far, I have saved enough for a valve stem. |

FtB, I've had the kids busy doing some Tomahawk stress testing and I'm impressed -- especially given the price. They stick/wear just fine. We've run through a few sets and the only real issue I've run across is getting some of 'em to balance -- I'd guess that the remanu process is lacking uniformity. I had one, and they swapped it out for me, that absolutely wouldn't freaking balance. $100 per set, 2500-3000K miles, all good. Buelltoberfest is penciled in -- I really hate to make plans out that far in advance. Every time I do something bad happens. So, if nothing gets dumped on my head/plate I'll be there. Stay out there on the streets and you'll eventually make some money I've been looking for some decent help so if you run out of options let me know G2 |

Mine was a year old the day after Thanksgiving last year. I have to say, I've never enjoyed a bike as much as I do my Buell. I love it warts and all. |
