From what I understand there have been a couple of recalls on the 06's. If my memory serves it is for the side stand and BAS?? Since I bought mine slightly used how would I go about finding out if this work was done. I am not positive exactly where the original dealer that sold this bike is located. Would Buell CS be able to provide me with this information?
Thanks Ken

Ken,
The warranty and dealer information is tagged to the VIN. If you call Buell CS they can direct you.

You SHOULD be able to give your VIN# to your local dealer and if the recall was done and the dealer that did the recall work turned in his part of the paperwork to Buell saying the service was done.......... and the stars and moon are in the correct orbit.... Your local dealer should be able to type in your vin# and tell you what has or has not been done........ in theory..

If you have any problem getting from your dealer, I'd like details.

Go to the Harley-Davidson website, create a user profile with your VIN number.

Then select the "Service & Maintenance" area of the website and choose the "Service Checkup" option. The website will provide information for recalls that have "NOT" been performed on the bike.

Thanks Skrobe......that was pretty easy. The BAS is still open on this bike so I guess I should call the dealer and get this scheduled.

I tried it. Didn't recognize my vin #. Re-entered vin, still didn't like it. Oh well. Good idea though. Didn't know that was available.

The Harley site doesnt show me as having the sidestand recall done, but the dealer said they did it when I got the bike. Is there a way to check and see the actual difference between before and after?

You would think they would have that info on the Buell website. It shows that I still need to get the sidestand and BAS done.

I had them both done awhile back.... somebody didn't share that info with Buell.

I found the info about the "HD service" info lookup from the following link

http://xlforum/vbportal/forums/index.php

in the "Buell Service Bulletins" forum.

I guess it depends on whether or not the servicing dealer updates the info with Buell. As far as I know, the HD site will only show recall items that have not been performed - it doesn't show a history record.

Hooliken the BAS is a simple procedure, moving the BAS from under the ECM to the tail cone section of the bike behind the seat lock. Colonial HD in Colonial Heights did it for me while I waited, took all of 15 minutes and they set the appt for me the day before. That was my first dealer experience and it was smooth.

We need an immediate recall on the 06 fuel pumps in the ULY and probably all XBs. The wires WILL short out in the tank...just a matter of where and when...they are rubbing on the clip that is supposed to hold them...a very poor setup.

Adrian_8,

Please pardon my ignorance, new to both Buells and the Ulysses. This is the first I have heard of the problem you describe with the fuel pump. Will you please elaborate?
