I just installed a Drummer, intake and a race ecu on my 06 xb12x and the bike wont do much more then idle rough and die at the thought of a little throttle( as I figured it might before the reset). So I re-installed the oem ecu and it runs quite decent but with the check engine light on. So my question is can I safely drive it the 14 miles to the dealer ship to do the tps reset with out fear of damage to the motor, I am sure it's running slightly lean do to the mods. Thanks!

if the cel was not on before the mods i would double check that all your wiring connections have been reseated properly. most likely you have forgotten to plug one in. good luck

all connections are good, I just realized its throwing the cel even before the bike is running and i think it's due to the fact that i have deleted the exhaust servo thingy. thanks for the responce

Ride it easy and avoid any pinging and you should be okay. A test run around the block would be prudent.

and thats just what i did. It ran great to the dealer. The sound of the new drummer was very impressive which made it difficult to keep it easy on her.
Cant wait to try out the new mods, to bad the dealer will have it for the next couple of days to reset the tps......a 30minute job i need to get the software to do it myself...soon!
Any how thanks for the help!

30 minutes!!
Try 10 minutes unless you count the time to warm up the bike first.....

Where are you? I know just about anyone including myself is usually willing to do that free if they have the software. I will if you're close enough.

I appreciate that stevem123, I'm in Everett. Maybe when I decide to buy the software i might take you up on that offer and have you run me through the process.

Hey Hypermoto,

I'm just down the I-5 corridor from you, in Auburn. I ordered the software from Appleton today, so if you need anything in the future, just look me up.

Thanks Packdog,
Cheers! Its nice to meet other fellow riders so willing to lend a hand to help each other out! I may need to take you up on it in the future.
You have many good roads there in the south end?

And a update:
Exhaust note is intoxicating,
Low engine speed drive ability 100% better, By far the most noticeable improvement. I find myself driving around 2000rpm with the same power and getup as when driving at 3000rpm before Witch helps make the redline seem a touch further away. The bike doesn't seem to shake as much down in the low revs either witch I think helps my slow corner entry feel more stable.
Top end seems a little better but not the improvement I expected.
I really only have 50 miles or so on it and may notice some changes as the ecu sets it self. but for now i again have the perma-smile I had the first day I rode the ULY

I am still new to the area and looking for places to ride, but in general yes, I have found quite a few short rides in the south end. Nice and twisty, just like they were made for a Buell.
