Wife surprised me today with a new Uly. She ordered the full bags as well. Any other suggestions for a new owner of suggested accessories? I'm thinking a battery tender, etc. Thanks!! Gugnheim |

Congrats on the new Uly! Since you have the bags, invest in some bag liners. There are several bags that work well with the Uly bags and range in price from $17-$75. Makes life much easier when packing and traveling! Enjoy your new Uly. BTW - what part of Cincy are you in? |

Thanks, and glad to be here. It was a real surprise. We'd been sort of talking about a bike, and got a chance to sit on one and she really liked the back seat, and that was weeks ago...then surprise. She wants a "cute" scooter, BTW, in exchange. I'll look into the liners. I'm in Loveland, but I commute to both Dayton and Northern KY for my masters programs, so the fuel relief is welcome. Gug |

Used to live in Goshen for a few years. After that in the Tri-County area. Here's a prior discussion about various bag liners. Someone also said they used the LLBean Small adventure bag. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=142838&post=823557#POST823557 |

Best thing is to look at the profile of anyone in BB&D. You will see some really cool "farkles"! Besides, Maximum forgot new top clamps and Pro-Taper handlebars. |

Thanks for the list, I'll have to start learning what half of it means. It's an 06. She did order the service manual with the bags. I have an old Garmin GPS V, but looking at the Zumo 550. What's with the airbox cover and some of the other things? Is the Buell tall screen not good enough? HVMP bar ends? Can you give any links to these? Thanks, Gug |

The best accessory you can get is Saddle Time. Ride the piss out of it! After a while, you'll figure out what changes you want to make. I've got an '06 and I'm having a ball with it. After 20,000 miles, I'm starting to figure out what changes work for me and which ones are a waste of cash. It's a Great Bike that just keeps getting better the more you ride it! |

Cool. We think so as well. We plan on hitting every weekend festival, gathering and zoo or park we can get to this summer. Plus I'm going to use it for my daily commutes for school. Any suggestions on tire flat kits? Gug |

Cool! Your wife obviously rocks. Battery tender? What the heck would you need that for? That Uly will never sit long enough for the battery to die! |

Ask the dealer to give you the Buell logo'd tie-down ratchets and the huge Buell logo'd crate wrapping. The tie downs secured the bike during shipping. Remember that you paid for them with the shipping charges so they should have very hard time coming up with reasons not to hand them over. The Buell crate wrapping is a nice garage wall adornment. I didn't even have to ask for the tie downs (they handed them over at signing) but I did ask for the crate wrap and no problem with the dealer on that. |

Yes! I have the perfect accessory for your Uly, the roads along the Little Miami river, a nice termination point is the river cafe: http://www.little-river-cafe.com/ I commute from Lebanon to Dayton every day... I'll watch for you if you go by Lexis Nexis I would invest in a simple GPS also. So you can be sure you choose the best routes. Give me a shout if you are near Lebanon... some nice loops around here. |

7, but all married..lol She does have a hot Irish friend though... Also, does anyone else use mologogo? Mologogo.com is the web page, it is software that allows you to use a cheap $30 boost mobile phone to do live gps tracking of you via the web for 10 bucks a month. I love it. Use it to have friends follow us to Florida from Ohio and for trips out west. Gug (Message edited by gugnheim on June 01, 2007) |

go east from cincy on us 52. when you get to brown county and further, any 3 number state route will make you grin. Take them up to sr 32. Go east, and take the next one back down to the river. The uly was made for those roads, and I miss it down there. |

So Crusty - after 20,000 miles what mods and accessories have you found to be a waste of cash? I've got a little over 200 on an 07 and am starting to think about a few things - really don't want to waste any money on the unnecessary. (Message edited by wananuly on June 02, 2007) |

Thanks for all the replies and advice. I 've got a whopping 31 miles on it so far, but I have an early question. I am having the worst time finding neutral. It seems as soon as I put enough pressure to shift, it is way to much and pops fast right past Neutral. In both directions. I've never had a brand new bike before, so I don't know if that is a new bike thing or what. I also can't wait for the new low seat to come in. |

I know that this was recently talked about in a recent thread, something about the primary chain being too tight. This happens to me every now and then, and a simple letting the clutch out till it slightly engages, then back in, seems to resolve the issue for me. |

On the two new Buells that I have had the transmissions have seemed to get smoother and easier to shift after about 8000 miles. If I remember correctly my neutral was very tight and hard to find on the Uly for the first couple thousand miles. It seems as though the transmission is one of those things that get better with age. BTW....where did you find a wife that is so kind, smart, and giving? Seems like you must be good to her too, eh? I've been really good to my wife, and she lets me buy her a Buell. Then I have to go out and buy mine too. Ahh, just trying to find justice in the world. |

Break in miles will help, as will a "by the service manual step by step" primary chain and clutch cable adjustment. Bring it out to Lebanon and I will be happy to go through it with you... I have the 9sx service manual, but it was the same as my M2, so it's probably the same as the Uly. |

I just bought mine on Tuesday. I rode out 52 to do the brake-in and then across the bridge at Aberdeen into Ky. Take KY8 west to KY 19 at Augusta. About 3 miles outside of Germantown take KY 10 back to Alexandria. That road will make you smile. I live in Anderson so maybe we'll hook up for a ride sometime. |

Man I hope so, sounds great. I'm literally bursting while waiting for my bags and other things to come in. I'm riding from Loveland to NKU along 275 on Tues and Thurs. Have you seen the new State Patrol Harleys doing speed enforcement along there? |
