How about a picture with the brake light on? Just curious as to how bright they are.

Jm, they are plenty bright, and amazingly annoying. They work great, I have used them in the past.

Funny thing... I am looking at putting a set of these on right now....

They are bright as hell. Followed a Tiger that had a set and you could see the Hyperlites over the standard brake lights.

Do they throw a beam for any distance so they might be used on the front of the bike?

EG, they flash red, and do not carry a beam. I am thinking you may get a ticket if you have a flashing red light facing the front of your bike.
They are designed to supplement the current brake lights, and to get drivers attention behind you when you are stopping.

ok here are the Hyper lites in action....

LED brake lights ON:

LED brake lights ON + Hyper Lites LED ON (sunscreen is recommended...)

you have the option of having the Hyper lites stay ON or flash for 5 seconds and then steady ON when brakes are applied

close up of the hyper lites installed

the trick is to place your additional Hyper lites or other brand lights not too close from your main brake lights as you will lose their effectiveness

Where did you get them and how much? Was the installation hard? I'm looking to do something similar to put on my topcase to make a big ass brake light, a couple of these might do the trick.

The install was done by my neighbor who has a bit more electronic knowledge then I have. The wires were simply inserted thru the side red reflector (was first heated with a hair dryer to prevent breaking) and redirected to the rear of the taillight assembly where they were hooked up to the existing brake light wire. Install instructions are provided with the Hyperlites (about US$65/pair) fyi. The top case vismo light appears to also be a great option but since I do not have the top case attached to my bike every day I needed something permanently hooked to the bike itself, hence the location on the side reflectors. goof luck

These flash all the time when braking, but are just as bright as hyperlights.

A friend of mine mounted a set off of the passenger peg brackets. Looks sweet and gives a bright light triangle effect.

It isnt as much help in the daytime, but I reflectorized my bags. I think it makes a huge difference.

I added reflective tape to my bags for night visibility. I am going to add hyperlights in the future.

I have the pair of 16 LED Hyperlites on my BMW and I immediately noticed that leaving them in the "flash constant" mode, cars behind me routinely stop several car lengths back. Tail-gate idiots tend to over brake behind and then stay back because they dont know what you are doing. Light taps on the rear brake lever move them back nicely.

Highly recommended !

Factory site is here:

http://www.hyperlites.com/

the home page shows how they flash.
