I ride my Uly everyday and do alot of off road ridding. but i havent put my bike in water over 1'. how deep can these thing go before bad stuff happens? | ||

The bike will run with the muffler under water. You can probably get water up the the airbox intake, which is right behind the gas cap, before you have problems. | ||

I personally wouldn't want to submerge my ECM. It may be waterproof, but I'm not sure of it's divers rating. | ||

You can probably get water up the the airbox intake, which is right behind the gas cap, before you have problems. The base of the air box snaps on to the lid, so I wouldn't go higher than that. Doing so would soak your air filter which in my experience is a bad thing. ECM should be good to go with light dunkings. Rubberized connectors are the same as those used on electrical connectors at lower locations on the bike. The rest of it is sealed. Main thing is if the water starts to get too deep kill the engine immediately. I've driven dirtbikes completely under water and it was a total PITA. Pumping water out of sparkplug holes, wringing out air filters, and going through 6 oil changes in a row before the oil stopped being white. If you do get the engine killed push it the bike ashore and try to get the water out of the pipe and intake before restarting. } | ||

This water crossing was about 12" deep on a '06 Uly last winter in Oregon. It was the speed of the crossing that made it fun. To tell the truth, I have had rear wheel bearing problems, but it wasn't untill about 35,ooo miles  | ||

I did about a 12" to 18" water crossing (unintentionally) on my Cyclone. Aside from yanking my feet completely off the pegs, it went through perfectly. | ||

I recently noticed that the wires coming out of the timing cover do not appear to be sealed. The cover looks to be made to fit a rubber grommet, which mine does not have. Even if it did, it looks like water would get up inside the cover. This could be a bad thing. | ||
