Well, I've been enjoying the heck out of the Uly. Just wondering if anyone has a rattle in what sound like the instrument enclosure. It happens only in gear at low RPM's. It sounds like a cable slapping plastic so I'm not too worried about it. If anyone has taken the time to find it and insulate it please pass the info along. |

That's probably the horn vibrating. There are some posts in the archives about that. Still need to fix mine. |

I used some rubber from a heavy duty tube to insulate my components under the bonnet. Took care of all the rattles I was hearing.

Top tip! - how to stop the horn rattling. Get rid of it and put a decent one in there Stebel Nautilus, fits (almost) like a glove. Now, before you guys flame me, I know I should have made up some nice shiny ally bracket and bolted it all in there, but hey, this is what zip ties were invented for, right? Certainly wakes people up around here! |

I have the same noise in my Lightning. Could it be the same problem? I was gonna tear the thing apart within the next couple days. |

I drank the Kool Aid and kept the weight as low as possible. I separated the heavy metal compressor from the light plastic horn and mounted the compressor on the left lower horizontal frame tube. Then I ran the hose up to the plastic horn where the other two are. A bit more work but Erik would be proud, at least with the concept, if not the execution. I can e-mail some pictures if interested to someone who can post. |

Firstbatch, A plastic zip tie will work around the base of the horn to eliminate the rattle. Have you received your go fast stuff yet? |

I just grabbed the horn and bent the bracket inward so that it wouldn't touch the fly screen. Had the same problem on the City-X too. No big deal. |
