....My Uly I already had, just with new syncs front and back and the 07 seat. Don't want to re-hash, but the new tires totally transformed the bike. Rock steady up to 100 mph and beyond! Wasn't sure about the seat as it seemed to have a "stepped" feeling to it, but after a few hundred miles this weekend I think it is a keeper.
For any of you guys that don't mind the Duncraps I have a half used set I would gladly give away!

+1.

Was talking to a BMW guy Saturday at a local dealer who just came back from test riding a '06 Uly. He didn't like the "unsteady" feeling at higher fwy speeds.

I explained the difference the Syncs made on mine even at 90+ w/ cases and the winds we often have around here, anything but unsteady!

Also told him he should think about an '07 and what the other differences were, and recommended BadWeB to him.

He asked me how I liked mine, I told him I've put on 24k in just under a year so I like it just fine!

I may have performed the most scientific test to date wrt Sync vs 616...

At MBIV, I had some well-worn 616s on the front and back. I couldn't keep pace with Ft_B and my wife (my wife was on her MTS 1000S). My 616 front had scalloped, and I was getting a very abrupt drop-in when leaning hard into turns. Can you say spooky?

This weekend, with Syncs now on my bike, the rolls were reversed. My wife actually waved me ahead of her while going up Wolfpen Gap. It wasn't until about half-way through GA 60, when she finally pulled ahead of me again, after she caught her breath.

Having the same tires on each bike has really leveled the playing field. The Syncs are great tires, maybe not race-quality, but good enough for me.

L-je, that is so cool to have a wife that could spank me on a bike! Cheers to you and that rare other half! Hummmm, 07 MTS 1000s with the reduced maintenance, about the only bike that would make me not want to listen to that damn fan anymore.....

Uh, my wife will not be spanking you, sorry. ...Oh, did I misunderstand your post?

The '07 MTS is an 1100, and it does have noticeably more torque than our 1000.

The MTS has its quirks. I found this in the emergency checklist, and have translated it from the original Italian, so I may be a bit off:

Caution: Your left leg will get "too hot" on the MTS.
Warning: Do not ride your Uly beside, and to the left, of an MTS.
Consequence: Flammable objects caught in between the radiant exchange may spontaneously combust.

Have "a" wife, not "your" wife.....although.......

I don't think the MTS is as comfortable two-up either, the Uly is really hard to beat in that category!}

My 616 rear is just about done and the front just sucks so I was shopping hard for what to switch to. I wanted the MT-60's but not the 2500 mile rear life. I took a look at the Syncs on an '07 Uly and while the rear looks acceptable for my riding conditions, the front seems like the tread is thin and would be slick in the sand. I decided to go with an MT-60 front and a Sync rear. I'll probably get them mounted up in the next few weeks and let you guys know how the combo works.

Now that my Fiance' got that Scg of hers I am having a tough time keeping up with her on my Uly. It was no problem when she was on her F650GS, but now it is a different story all together. She would like for her birthday a track school weekend. She thinks that she would like to do the ladies thing out in Vegas. Neat, I can be an umbrella boy.

Pso,

HA! I'll join you on the sideline-o-shame! My wife wants to do the same thing out in Vegas with Femmoto.

It sucks when you can't catch the gal. It sucks even more when she has no sense of direction, and you not only have to catch up, but have to pass her, just to get her turned around in the right direction!

O dam*, Jason. I had not thought of that but you are so right. She can get lost in a parking lot.

Good to hear the new shoes are working.

I am currently using the new Avon Storm ST's. So far, I am really impressed. The really key will be how long they last. If I don't get at least 4,000 good miles out of them, I think I am going to try the Diablo Stradas. I will get crappy mileage, but not much worse than what I am getting.

For me, the problem with running with women with skills like L_Je's wife has is that I am carrying an extra wife and a half.

I'm the equivalent of John Candy as a Kentucky Derby jockey.

Jason, don't blame it all on your tires.

You had precious cargo as well. ;)

Lost in a parking lot? That's cake...

We were going somewhere in our car, and since I don't have a car mount for my GPS, I let my wife hold it. The GPS was set to NAV, and I was asking her if the upcoming turn was left or right...she couldn't figure it out...she had to hand the GPS over to the 8 yr old to sort it out.

She can retrace her way out of a laboratory maze, but a map means nothing to her...I don't get it?
