Charly at Parabellum made this prototype up for me this week. It is pre-production and will change slightly. It measures about 16" top to bottom and is about 14" wide.

You can actually see the holes for the upper mounts on this version... the final version will not have those as the upper supports are not needed for support one this size given the way its mounted.

This is the cee-baily +2.5 against the Parabellum for comparison.

I think the final version will be slightly shorter to get my helmet fully into the clean air.

He said I could mention that he would sell them for a good price as a companion shield for anyone who bought one of the bigger ones (..he mentioned $59). Not sure about the price otherwise.

I'd actually like a smaller windshield than stock. Actually, what I would like is the front wind screen molded slightly taller (1-1.5").

So basically mold a Ulysses front screen so that it looks like the S screen.

Have I mentioned, I like wind?

Gamdh, if ya talk to Charly, tell him I want one of those.
Let me know when he's got a clear one ready.

I feel a road trip coming on :-)

Peace

As for a road trip.. y'all come! Hopefully this time I'll have more time.

Have you used it yet and how do you like the protection? How tall are you? where does the air hit you and is it a clean blast? I found that the large Buell shield caused a great deal of turbulance at the helmet for me. I am 6' with a 32" inseam. I am looking for a cold weather shield, that is not a barn door. I like the stock in fall, summer and spring, but for longer cold trips it just does not offer the protection. I have tried the laminar lip and it just does not offer cold weather protection (plus I think my finace' has just approprated the L. lip for her new 12Scg)Thanks

Ft_bstrd,

Just send your windshield to Etennuly with a mark where you want it cut. You can see he does nice work! I don't know about his shop rates though.

I'm wanting to remove the separate windshield all together. I want a front fairing that is about an inch and a half taller than stock with no holes.

Pso

I'm 6'2" with about a 32" inch inseam

I've only got about 150 miles with this version. I thing this version is actually a bit to tall and Charly is going to cut an inch off. (this version is about 16" tall). He may also make it bit narrower.. but not sure yet.

The air coming off the screen is pretty good.. there is not flip or anything on the top to disturb the air flow like the cee-baily. My only issue with the current version is that the wind off the screen is still hitting the bottom of my helmet which does cause some noise compared to compelely clean air (hence the reasoning for knocking an inch off).

With that said, the air on the current version hits the bottom of my helmet and the tops of my shoulders. Its almost where I want it.. hoping that ince less will move the air down just a little bit to get my helmet into fully clean air.

Hopefully will get the newer one sometime in the next few days.

You might also consider calling Charly (his number is on his website).. he can provide much more technical detail than I can.

FB

Call Parabellum... he does make a few fairings for other bikes...

I do know that Charly generally likes to know if there is a market for the product...you never know until you ask.

How does it do compared to the ZG?

I don't have any basis for a comparison to the ZG. I've had the Cee-baily +2.5 and the 16 inch. So, I can only compare to those and the stock.

vs the CB.. the Parabellum has better build quality and materials and much less buffeting.

I just put on my new Parabellum and am very pleased with it so far. I am 5'10" with 32"
inseam and Charly convinced me to get the 26
inch shield which looks really big on the Uly at first because it is not a large bike to begin with. It is not that big a shield if you compare it to a lot of HD or BMW shields.I'll get some pictures up soon. Pso- I think you would like this shield a lot but talk to Charly-he might suggest you try the 28 inch
and saw off a piece if you thought it was a tad too tall.

I had over 3K miles on my 28"... swapped it out for this one during the warmer weather. At first.. it was very strange going from very large to small. (Small being a relative term)

I've been very happy with both so far.. they are doing what I wanted.

I would definetly recommend talking to Charly.. and for what its worth, if you are looking for max wind protection get the biggest shield that you can just see over. That should get the wind over the top of your helmet. I"m 6'2" and with the 28" the wind was about the top of my face shield.. not much buffeting but some wind noise.
Still I was very happy with it!.

I also started a thread a while back on the tall Parabellums...it had some measurements etc. that might be helpful. (don't have the link handy).

Cavi,

That is just about identical to the ZG in a height comparison to the stock. It's seems to stand more upright and be a little wider compared to the ZG though. That might offer a slightly different or possibly better wind pattern that the ZG for cold weather use or high speed use.
