Not like that you sick &$*%! I have a tail bag that I use to commute. The Uly is the tallest bike I have ever owned and I have trouble clearing the bag with my big fat leg. So tonight I was getting it ready to take my wife for the first ride. I was curious how the rear seat felt. I got on like a passenger would and realized that if I mounted the bike that way when I got on or off, it would be easier. Just thought I'd toss it out there for you.

I am assuming you are talking about mounting it while it's on the sidestand?

If so, pegs would be fine, but the sidestand will get some additional wear and tear. I'd inspect it regularly.

The problem is that in it's design, you won't be able to tell much about metal fatigue until you are on one peg with your foot halfway over the saddle.

halfway over the saddle.....and bam! Seen it happen on a guy on his BMW K bike.....it is a tempting way to mount, kinda like horse ridin.

Andrejs2112, I've got a hip issue that makes it impossible for me to mount my Uly conventionally. I'm pretty heavy to boot. So to ease the load on the side stand, I mount from the right side driver's footpeg and try to basically balance so that there is not my full weight on the side stand. That's not to say that the side stand is off the ground, just unweighted some. I also try to put my left foot down rather than land on the seat to minimize the side stand load. If the passenger pegs work better for you, try it from the right side.

Thanks for the replies. I normally wouldn't do that. I just thought is would make things easier if I was loaded with gear.

Seeing that I'm working on buying a Uly in the coming two weeks (finished MSF course TODAY!), I was wondering whether we can put a center stand on it...any thoughts?
