I'm looking for some MX style footpegs to replace the factory units which are pretty sketchy for stand-up riding. I've seen them before but can't find the link. Anybody?

These are what I ordered...they should be in any day now. I will be posting a thread after installing them.

I got mine from Touratech, they seem to be pretty decent.

Anything is better then those slippery stock ones.

Here are the Touratech's...

Not to hijack, but Treadmarks my TT Front guard came with a different front mount kit, so it no longer uses that front bolt that results in shakes. Now has a bracket so both tabs mount to the bar instead. If the bottom plate wasn't still backordered I'd have it mounted.

The Crossroads Performance are now American Sport Bike. We bought the Crossroads Buell product line, all inventory, IP, tooling, fixtures, etc.

The Uly pegs are here:

Are any of these pegs roomier, as in from the side of the bike outward, than the stock pegs? I find that having a size 12 boot means I have to angle my feet in towards the pegs due to the subframe design. I would like a peg that is wider or longer depending on how you look at it. Thicker as in front to back depth isn't as important to me. Could you guys post if any of these pegs fit my bill?

Paochow,

That is the kit that came with my front plate.

It used two rubber backed clamps to attach to the horizontal rod that connects the motor to the frame.

One side of the rod moves with the engine, and the other side doesn't. Maybe your install will go better than mine did, but on mine-the vibes were more with the kit tied to the rod.

Please let us know how it goes.

Jm,

The American Sport Bike pegs are shorter than the stockers. Awesome grip tho. I like the shorter pegs, because the bike is so tall that the longer pegs were taking a bite out of my leg if I bumped them while maneuvering with my feet down. I suppose if ya got really long legs, it won't be an issue-I must be vertically challenged.

"Are any of these pegs roomier, ..."

I have a pair of the Touratechs on my 1150GS and they were so wide (side to side), I spent another $50 to get them cut down. I kept busting my shin on them like Treadmarks. If wide is what you want, the Touratechs will do it.

The Touratech's seem to have a little more drop in them. The American Sport Bike protrude directly out from the hinge. I would like a grippier peg but not at the cost of higher pegs. NUTS

You are correct NUTS. At first I thought it would suck, but I adjusted the brake and shifter to compensate and it feels pretty good. If I could get them lower I would, but not at the shin busting expense of being wider.

Tread, I'm a a lanky fellow and would rather keep the stock peg height than raise the bars to compensate. I do like the "chewiness" of those pegs though! NUTS

NUTS: The Touratechs seem to be about 1/2"- 3/4" or so higher than stock, but the grip is much better. They don't slant forward as much as the stockers so they are much more comfortable to stand on. The downside to the lack of slope is that the brakes and shifter need to be almost maxed out to get the proper position.

Treadmarks: Thanks for clarifying. I was hoping it was something new, guess not : (. I won't waste too much time playing with it before hacking off the mount.

JmHinkle: Here is a comparison shot for the Touratechs vs the stock pegs. They are the size of bicycle pedals...

Guys, there has to be more footpeg options out there? Any of you find any alternatives to the TT's or American Sport Bike's? Something with the same OEM design with more traction, perhaps?

Dinger, somebody posted a while back a neat little hack. They took a dremel to the stockers, and sharpened up the grips to points. Maybe that's what you're looking for?

S-Mac, that sounds like something I was thinkin' of. Now all i need is a dremel and some patience. : )

I think if you cut a V-notch into each raised gripper, that would double the grip factor and create sharper points. Shouldn't be too difficult. If i go this route, I will post some pics of the result...or order some aftermarkets and say "to hell widdit"!

I did the dremel carving myself. The MX-style looked to scary to me. It worked great. Gives just the right amount of grip for street riding with wet boots. Prolly not great for the mud...but neither is the Uly.

Will try to remember to take one ASAP. I actually ended up using an inscriber instead of a dremel. Easy stuff. Photo to follow...

Guys! I want Pivot Pegz! those things look pretty effing awesome! I didn't see them for Buell's on the manufacturer's website, so I sent an email to inquire about mockin' up a set? Or if they were anywhere near production. There are now a lot of Uly owners out there, so I don't think Powerpegs would lose money on 'em. I will let you know when I get a response. I'm wondering if they need a set of stockers to fab up the new model.

This is what I'm going to get.

https://www.powerpegz.com/products.cfm

1. The mounts are reversable for standard mount, or drop mount.

2. Order a set for the Suzuki V-Strom Series. They will fit.

3. I don't have these yet, but I will farkle with these. I just blew $500 on a GPS, so funds are a tad low.

I traded a couple emails with Andrew at Adventure Workshop...here is his reply...

"The old footpegs would help but it would be better to actually try to fit them here so that I can see exactly how they would work on that bike.

Can you post to that forum and see if anyone is available in central NJ around the Springfield area?

Thanks,
Andrew"

Anyone in the area that can stop by his place to size up the pegs. I know this is a huge favor to ask, but I am helpless from the West coast.

Michael, are you positive the V-stroms will fit the Buell? I'd hate to order them, only to have to send them back.

I am positive. The V-Strom guys put the stock Buell pegs on their bikes to get a little more leg room. Don't see why that the V-Strom pegs won't fit on a Buell, when the Buell's fit on a Vstrom....

Also, search on eBay. They are only $70 there plus $10 shipping.

If the Powerpegs are for the Strom, which has pegs that are higher than the Uly, won't the Powerpegs cost a bunch of legroom?

The TT pegs are about at the limit of what I want to give up, personally I would rather have pegs lower than stock though.
