I'm still on the fence regarding getting a Drummer for my Uly. Did the '07 air box mod with a stock unflashed ECM. Runs better and pulls harder now.

I would like more exhaust sound...I know lets try and keep it quiet and I am a member of that group of thought. However since I live in a very rural area I don't really have much chance of really annoying the locals.

What I would like to know is what is the relative loudness of a Drummer vs a set of "M" cycle shack/Screamin-Eagle slip-ons on a Sportster? Louder/deeper-quieter?

I've had a few Sportsters with such a set up so I'm aware of that level of sound. ( quite loud when getting on the gas)

Too bad it takes so long to get a Drummer. Anyway...thanks for the input.

The Drummer has a deep sound that only gets "loud" at high RPMs. I love it! I have owned 3 Harleys and my Buell doesn't make half the noise.

I recently put a Drummer exhaust on my '06, along with a K&N air filter and the '07 airbox lid. The Drummer is not really that loud at all, a deeper sound and not harsh or obnoxious like some HD pipes. The bike runs great with these mods. I got my Drummer in less than a week when I ordered mine.

Did you order a standard Drummer or a Stainless Steel "SS" muffler.

I want to go with an SS but Kevin says he's out 8 weeks!

Based on what you guys are saying it looks like the loudness is very tolerable. I would love to hear a Drummer but probably won't be able to due to my location. (not much in the way of Buell activity)

Has Al made fuel maps for the differnet mufflers yet?? I would love to upgrade my exhaust but dont want to screw with the F/A mix. Sure it may run good but how do you know its not a lil rich or lean???

Dave, I just ordered the regular Drummer. Sent him mine and he sent me one he had already done so, it was more of an exchange actually.
I am not worried about the bike being much too lean or too rich due to simple airbox/muffler mods. I am confident that the stock mapping can deal with these types of mods with no problems. The bike runs significantly better, crisper throughout and smoother at partial throttle with these changes and I am still getting 45+ mpg.
I can't imagine the fuel map being so exacting that a simple change of an airfilter/muffler would cause the bike to runs so lean or rich as to be a cause for concern, but that is just me perhaps.
