Bought today the Uly I test rode from H-D/Buel of Fredrick MD- orange(!) 06 with 4500-ish miles on it. Got treated real nice by sales staff and the bike received 5k service . Looking forward to some great time. Already on order is a set of Caribou luggage, and then the GS1150 ADV will go hopefully to a good home.Well, now I am officially a member of the red headed step-child club.
Looking forward to meeting you guys and gals - I am in Baltimore MD and know some wonderful back roads in the area.

Ishai,

Welcome. Enjoy your new ride. The Caribou luggage is also excellent, you will like it.

Those GS's are interesting bikes but the Uly will peg your fun meter in comparison.

The only problem is that it takes longer to get home while riding a Uly. Too many roads (paved and dirt) to explore!!!

Welcome aboard!

Will second the Ulytility recommendation. Made for the bike and a 5 minute install.

I also concur, the Ulytility made adding aux lighting a pretty easy mod.

Thanks for the pics and info. The PIAA1200 came with a mile-long harness and all connectors, relay are hooked up as a ready to go system .It apears that there is an excess of wire, and connectors/components could be difficult to pass thru various parts of bike. Does any one have pics of installation of similar harness on the uly?Ideas? Thanks, Ishai

I laid out all the wires and decided to place the PIAA fuse under my seat, and place the included relay under the fly screen, then connect the two areas with two 16 gauge wires (power and ground) that I ran through the inside of the frame along side the factory wire bundle. I cut all wires to exact lengths then soldiered everything back together with heat shrink over the connections for added protection. I elected to use an AutoSwitch instead of the included toggle switch, but everything else would be the same.

Thanks Maximum- I think it's a good way of doing it. Will probably have to snip of a bunch of excess wire and remove the white sleeve off the harness. Will see.
