had to share. it was a GREAT experience.

Called in the a.m. to confirm i was coming in for the BAS recall. They said c'mon down.

I hadn't finished my 2nd cup of coffee and they were done. Wow. Filled out a "how did we do survey" which is new and dropped it on his counter with my particulars (i indicated they exceeded expectations : )
Then i ventured over to parts to get an oil filter and service manual (manual not stocked - gotta order one). Upon my return, the Manager had photocopied the service manual pages for me on the oil change. Thought, what the hell, and asked him for tire changing pages as well. He graciously photocopied those pages and then i thought why not again, and asked the tech to give me a little walkthru on removing the rear wheel.

Thought you might like to hear of a positive experience as of late!

Chinook;
Do you have a name of anybody in the service dept.? I'm going to be traveling through your area in June and will need a tire change or two. Had some tires shipped to a friend in Ogden but would like to call ahead to grease the wheels so to speak.
TIA
Tim

I don't know what they will charge, but Glenn is the mgr. and i've also talked to Chris there.

Another place that charges $20 or so to change tires is Wright's Motorcycle on State Street in SLC. But you have to pull the wheels and bring them to them.

That's the route I'm going with my rear tire, hopefully today or Monday!

So I needed a new tank bag. I looked online and saw that one of my local shops had a good price on Ebay. Rather than mail order from Appleton, I thought I'd throw them the business.

The parts guy said "nope, if you want the eBay price, you need to buy it on eBay and have us ship it". I explained that this cost both of us more money. They pay the ebay fees, I pay shipping. Asked why we could not skip that? Nope, eBay prices for eBay only, MSRP at the shop.

Not really happy. Am I just crazy?

I know, my goal was to "get it now" for a trip this week.

Instead I "stole" Jimmy's unused tank bag, and will replace it with a new one ordered from Andy. : )

Get your friends to buy Buells, it comes in handy! : )

I have had tremendous service from Lake Erie HD/Buell in avon OH. They have been great taking care of a couple warranty issues. They did a great job with the bas relocation.
They have earned my parts and accessories business, and any service work I may need.

I gotta throw big props out to Stone Mountain HD/Buell out of Georgia.

While they weren't my normal servicing dealer I had an issue while at March Badness IV last month with a faulty front isolator mount that they determined to be bad from the factory. (some postings on here about it if you care to read it)

Anyway, to make a long story short, they had a new one sent up to Suches from the shop that night and replaced it the next morning so we could depart with a safely functioning bike.

This was late Saturday night when it was identified and about 0800 Sunday morning when they fixed it...

They are now my servicing dealer...even with the 250 mile trip each way to get there.

Valley Harley/Buell in Stockton California took back my damaged and used side bags after I used them for a couple of weeks and the latches kept braking. They didn't blink and gave me my money back. I've dealt with 3 dealers in the area and I am very pleased so far with the level of support so far. Going Buell is working nicely at the moment.

Fremont Cycle Center (California) Eric Meyer is fantastic to deal with and they are enthusiastic about Buells. They were the only dealer to allow me to take the Uly for a test spin.

My dealer, Peninsula HD/Buell in Redwood City, Ca is a real treat to deal with. Dianne, my salesperson is very cool, super friendly, and very helpful for a Harley chick! : ) When I came in to pick up my cases after buying my Uly, the sales manager gave me this killer HD picnic tote. 1/2 of it is a cooler, the other half contains 2 plates, 2 forks, 2 plastic HD cups, a salt/pepper shaker, and 2 cloth napkins. Perfect for any picnic on a long ride with the wife. Fits perfectly into a saddlecase. Tomorrow I am going in to pick up my Buell Messenger bag, in which she contacted me stating she had a present for me. I really recommend Peninsula to anyone in the SF Bay Area. I haven't had my initial service yet (600 miles). I'm hoping to bang out the 400 remaining miles, so i can drop off for the 1K mile service. If their service dept is as awesome as their sales dept, they will have a loyal customer in me.

Good thread for those looking for a competent/friendly dealer.

I want to give some props to Illinois Harley-Davidson/Buell in Berwyn, IL.

They are the dealer from whom I purchased my Uly, and I've been quite critical of them in the past for what I considered less than stellar support of the Buell brand.

I've expressed my displeasure directly to the management there, and while I'm sure the changes have been made independently of my comments, I do want to to express my appreciation for recent steps they have taken to support the brand.

Previously, the Buell bikes were located in a separate building from the HD's, and squished between the used motorcycles and the Eagle Rider rental desk. Recently, they have moved the Buells to the main floor, and have them visible from the front window of the shop. This is a HUGE step forward, and one I greatly appreciate.

They have also added a rack of Buell shirts, which is very nice to see.

During a Demo Day last Saturday, the demo bikes featured a Uly, and after I made a quick inquiry about the TT they quickly pulled it out for folks to ride. NICELY DONE!

I've been in a few times for various parts, and have been quite pleased that over half the time, they have had what I needed in stock.

There is still some improvement that can happen: The staff in general is still fairly uneducated regarding the product line, and is quick to say "I don't really know much about the Buells," but the dealership has made some big strides forward in supporting the brand, which I really appreciate.

I hope they keep improving. I think it's an excellent HD dealership, with the potential to be an outstanding Buell shop, and with the recent changes look like they are moving in that direction.
