I am looking to upgrade the stock windshield with a big ass one that will take wind off my chest and just blast me in the head or give me something to crunch under at high speed on the highway.

I am looking at these two different shields, one by CeeBaileys, which is a big pretty one with lots of curves.

The other is more standard curve with a port whole with 4 mounting bolts that space it off the fly screen unlike the ceebaileys which is right on the flyscreen(thin rubber bushing between).

I have read about a uly doing the long iron butt rides and the Ceebaileys breaking the first day. So I am skeptical. Anyone have any experience with either windshield?

I do ride very fast on the highway which is why i worry about the breaking shield. I usually cruise around 80 but on clear days where there is no room for cops I am in the 90's.

Here are links to each

Thanks again

I have to chime in here and say that both look pretty ridiculous IMO. I can definitely understand the need for a better screen, but those things are huge!

Anyone have the American Sportbike windscreen +3-1/2? I was thinking of ordering that one, plus the smoke tint would look great on the ORANGE fly.

I have the tall Cee Bailey's on my '06 Uly for 2 months. I ride daily 60 plus highway miles at average speeds of 90 mph. This shield creates a slight buffett on my forehead at speed, but is eliminated when I lean forward into the shield about 4 or 5 inches. Very happy with the product and highly recommend it. I'm 5' 10" and have a 30" inseam to give you a reference.

Just to add... I mean no disrespect to those working the tall windscreens. What's my opinion worth anyways? If it suits your needs, then that's all that really matters. I will eventually be the guy asking how the 2 ft. tall screens work on the highway, with a huge cavity in the center of my chest. LOL!!!

I have the medium height Cal-Sci shield and love it. I'm 5'10' with a 29" inseam, and the wind hits me at the top of my full face helmet shield. No turbulence of any kind and I've had the bike up to 100MPH with no problems. I also cruise at 80+ and have about 900 miles with the windshield.

I didn't know American Sportbike is making a screen now, or is that the Zero Gravity???

Link for those interested:

Looks like a good alternative for those looking for more protection without having to mount a barn door.

You can also check out Parabellum (http://www.parabellum.com/). Several here have them.. He used my bike to fit the windshield.

This thread contains a bunch of info. They are well made, come in several sizes (all pretty big) and it has they include the additional upper mount.

Mike_dinger I felt the same way for a long time. And i still do but the fact of the matter is the Buell isn't an attractive bike and I really don't care about looks. I will tell you about the function when I pick one out : )

Leaning towards the CeeBaileys. Still not sure, need more information.

I have to say I have been totally *unimpressed* with CeeBailey's customer support. I will not go into specifics (PM me if you want that) but I will not be buying *anything* from them again.

Zero Gravity. best out there. It's +4" with out a flip up. The Buell extended flips up at the last inch or so. That creates a boat load of turbulence.

I love mine. I'm 6' average length torso and it moves the wind right to my upper chest/neck area. perfect for me.

I'd post pics, but photobucket it down. Search on here, I've got pics up already.

I also have the Zero Gravity but I'm 5'11" with a long torso. I find that it puts the wind right at my chin. Works wonderful around town. At 85MPH feels like it is ripping my head off. No buffeting at all though. My neck gets tired fast out on the highway now, but it is still way better than the stock screen. That felt like I had to hold the bars too tight to hang on for dear life at highway speeds. I've never tried the no windshield but just might this summer.

I have the zero Gravity and for me it works. The two offered above really don't grab me for their looks ! Butt ugly IMO

I have a 26 inch Parabellum in the box waiting to be put on. Charly said if it was too big he would saw off part of it for me. I'll post a picture when I get my bike put together.
I had a Cee Baileys's but the turbulence
sounded like a herd of buffalo from the soundtrack of Dances with Wolves.

I have 2007 Uly with the Tall Cal-Sci shield. I'm 5'9' with a 29" inseam and the wind hits me in the eyes. No turbulence. I wear a half helmet and at 80mph against a 20 mph wind it broke the visor on my helmet.

I have a 28" Parabellum shield on order and will try it also.

You may also consider the laminar lip. I have one on my Uly and love it. The good thing about it is easy to remove when you want. I am 6' and it brings the air flow up to my face shield.

The Laminar lip works well for me too. However, I would like to see the Zero Gravity in dark smoke. Anyone have a picture or link to a picture?

I am actually looking at possibly adding a laminar lip to my stock screen or the ZG screen.

Here's some pics... of the ZG in dark smoke. I now have the Buell Tall windshield fix/recall. The kit was $20 at the dealer. Fits good. Works nice.

Hey Michael... I love the way the ZG brings the front together. Mainly how the top of the windscreen is just about flush with the mirrors. Looks pretty tight!

I thought the ZG had a "flip up" at the top similar to the laminar lip?

Nope. That's the Buell Tall screen. I think the flip up is what makes the +4" screens suck so much. The ZG without flip, rocks!!!!}

I think that windshield needs a MOTORCYCLE as an accessory.

: )

Aside from somebody having a spare sheet of lexan and a case of beer, what is that thing?

Details. Please, we need details, and a ride report could be insightful.

All that I can say is that the rider claimed that both he and the tractor-trailer behind him were completely bug free. ;)

Too bad that barn door reduces your MPG down to SUV levels.

On a related note: I rode my friend's KTM Adv for about 100 miles earlier this week. The KTM shield tossed wind into my helmet making it hard to hear mp3's. Leaning forward or standing up made it all go away. I definitely appreciated my much shorter Cee Bailey +2.5" shield on my Uly afterwards.

I have a 24" Parabellum and a ZG screen like the one Michael1 pictured above. I used the Parabellum on a long winter road trip, and it did a great job of keeping the cold winter air off me, but it did produce a small amount of buffeting that I would have preferred not to have. I think the 26" version would have been better for my 5'9" frame, or about 4 inches shorter might have worked well too. I may try resizing it at some point just to see what happens.

I have about 1000 miles with the ZG shield, and so far I love it. The looks are very sharp, there is no buffeting, and the wind blast is right at the top of my shoulders. Just tested it out today at over 100 mph, and there was no problems at all.

Fatty-
What is that monstrous gigantic windshield?
Where did it come from?Did you actually ride with that thing or just glue it on for pictures?
