The deposits take some time to wear off, but your bike has how many miles?? Like 55,000 or something. That rotor may be out of spec and needs replacement. Remember, if you replace it, get new mounting hardware. It's not reusable. Glad the TPS is working well. It's dead simple to do as you guys could see. Even using a laptop circa 1998 running Windows ME. LOL!! I got one of my forks done last night. Dumped out the old oil, which didn't look bad. Flushed the fork with WD-40, and filled it with fresh Bel-Ray 10wt. Would have got both done, but someone at the factory thought it would be funny to put RED loctite on one of the fender bolts. Yep...a damn fender bolt!! Tried WD-40. Tried heating it (and partially melting part of the fender), and ended up drilling it out. Oh well...I'll go to Lowe's tonight and pick up a new screw. I'll be good to go. |

Nice...I'm adding black wheels....Fatty is adding orange (er...ah..."amber") wheels. Any irony here? |

Etennuly keeps telling me that "orange is the faster color". I need the help. You evidently need the "speed brakes" for yours! |

You both need adjustable knard wings mounted on the forks below the headlight. Ft_b that way when the ORANGE takes over you can adjust for the uncontrollable speed you will be experiencing for the first time, by using them as airbrakes......a "training wheel" of sorts....just until you get used to it. Chad,......well you might use it to keep dust off your goggles, 'cause you're still riding a black bike with no ORANGE inspiration.

been working my rear end off for the last few days and just saw this. (LMFAO) a) no, FB is no where near twice my size - I'm short, but not uber light - right now, I weigh 170lbs + in my riding gear. ( how the heck else do you figure I'd be able to muscle a 400lb bike around in the dirt??) b) IIRC, the rims dented in Baja were due at least in part to running too low of a tire pressure / flat tires. c) as it happens, some of my favorite runs are on decommisioned railways, and I HAVE pounded over railway tracks on the stock rims, without a problem...but I cant say I havent had some worries over it. If I was going to play in heavy rocks, I'd worry about it. As it is, even my supermoto ( superdave??) inspired high speed runs over whoop do doo's, ridges, and old railways hasnt managed to dent the rims...those same runs have managed to compress my muffler an inch or more though, which migh be some indication of just how strong the rims are, and how critical correct tire pressures might be. Ok, Ulendo, but don't laugh too hard, 'cause a stiff breeze can blow me over! I'm 148# with full winter gear, albeit this is gear for a Georgia winter, and not a real winter. My real motivation was to keep Ft_B & Co. from buying up all of the amber wheels, mainly because I wanted them! |

If'n you're in the market, just keep your eye on Ebay every day. There was a set of Villain Black that were waaaaaaay overpriced on Ebay recently. I don't think anyone bought them. They will be back. There will be another set of Amber wheels soon. |

Yep...keep looking. I lost a set of red ones that went for WAY too much...then lucked out and bought my black ones, with new tires on them, for $400...for both!! |

Thanks Ulendo! Can't resist slippin' an Austin Powers quote in! I can't wait to get the new shoes mounted up. I have new tires and new wheels sitting in my garage taunting me as I come in and out of the house. I periodically have to roll them out and grope them. I'm waiting for front and rear rotors, rotor mounting hardware, and pulley hardware as well as the Lyndalls, and it's killing me! I also got airbox lettering to match the new wheels. I would be half tempted to get an amber tented wind screen if one was available. It would be cool if I could get the package looking more like this:
But in amber. Anyone know who makes a standard height wind screen in dark amber? |

I think Zero Gravity makes something close to an Amber windscreen for the Uly. If Ft_B gets excited, and starts shouting "Get in my belllllyyyyy" I'm running for cover. |

Simply get two of the clear ones, mount one right in front of the other, seal the edges in a waterproof way and fill the gap between with a dark amber beer! You could use different beers to adjust the color for your mood! |

Beer? Brilliant! Build a couple of demos of varying thicknesses. There should be an optimum beer thickness that eliminates any high speed windscreen buffet. ...all I'm sayin' is "solve for X." |

FB - sign shop I used to work at had a CNC router table, and could order tinted lexan...might want to see if theres some place local to you with similar capabilities. pretty sure blue, red, yellow ( gold) amber ( orange ), and smoke are still available tints for lexan. specific shades would be the only issue, but translucent vinyl on the backside of a clear sheet might also work.... I've found a couple of sources for translucent polycarbonate paint that I think will work. I think that will be the easiest route as well as the least expensive. My current screen has a couple of nicks in it, so I won't be too upset if I foob it up. I have sever pieces of scrap lexan running around the house, so I'll practice until I can get it right and do it up. I just want the stock height screen but in a different color. The ZG screens are +3.5". Everything else is a barn door. Oh, and using beer as a screen tint is an egregious waste of beer! |

I would never waste the beer! It would have a proper sealed housing, filled under pressure, used as prescribed, then after cooling the windshield, consumed from a drain on one of the lower corners. Huh.....waste beer......ain't gonna waste no beer. |

There is the bike I wanted. A Translucent Amber Uly. Just beautiful to me. I still think the Amber wheels will look good on an orange bike and hope to have them someday. |
