Got a question for the experts.

I recently installed a QUEST nav system on my Uly and followed the GARMIN instructions for wiring.

Well, it has the power lead wired directly the battery so it's a constantly 'hot', forcing me to remove the device whenever the bike's not running...

My question is has anyone found an ACC wire to splice into that is easily accessible under the seat?

Since I already have it wired to that area and have a good ground I'd like to avoid running the pwr wire all the way back up to the flyscreen.

Any help is appreciated,
Scott

I'd like to hear some thoughts on this as well...I need to hardwire my 2730 and am not sure if I should take the wire under the flyscreen to the accessory socket or what...I've got a little fuseblock that I could wire to the battery and run the GPS to it...but how to get the wire under the seat is a bit of a question.

FWIW, I leave my GPS on when stopped for gas or food and have never had a problem. They draw almost no current, there's a 1 amp fuse in the adapter. Anyway, what Hootis said or there a wire going to the tail light on the left hand side under the seat.

On my 9sx (Uly should be similar and easier) I removed the fuse box (it just snaps in, you can get enough room to get under it without disconnecting any wires) and tapped into the wire of choice... I think I used the tail light circuit also.

I didn't even cut the wire, just carefully removed some insulation, wrapped another wire around it, soldered it down, and taped it back up.

I wired the Garmin powered quest mount to the lighter outlet behind the flyscreen. I also have heated grips powered off the same circuit with no problems.
