I didn't want to have to carry extra levers when I venture into the dirt so I just installed a set of Tusk handguards. They have worked great on my DRZ and other friends' bikes. I was able to shorten the mounts so that they don't interfere with the Polly heaters too much. I thought I could pretty much remove the stock handguard (wind deflectors?) mounts, but it seems that most of the mounting post remains. Even if I remove the rounded portion it looks like the threads will remain. Does anyone know if the lever pins from the other XB's will work to clean this up some?

Here are a few pics..

They can be replaced with the stock 12S pivot bolts & nuts

I know this because I went the other way & put Uly hand guards on my 12Scg.
