"Get a new seat." " A black one." when I first saw the orange Ulysses, it had a black outline of the triple tail on it where it had rubbed against the triple tail and I was rubbing on it trying to get the black outline on it and it wouldn't come off. The orange shows scuffs and dirt more than the black ones. I was talking to the salesman there and he asked me what color of the Ulysses I wanted. I said the first one you get in as long as it had a black seat! I prefer the black color Ulysses but I have to say that the one they had at the IMS in Chicago had quite a few scuffs on it's seat from people dragging their feet on the seat when getting on it. The orange shows scuffs and dirt more than the black seats. |

Go back to the 07 standard. My '06 seat had the beaver tail outline and foot scuffs on it with only 1000 miles on it. My '07 does not with about 2500 on it. Slightly different material maybe? I don't know, but the '07 doesn't get scuffed like the '06 and it is 10 billion times more comfortable for both driver and passenger. They use a much better foam in the '07. |

Aussie - I too am short and kept leaving a black mark on our orange seat. I found that when I went to a lower profile heel on my riding boots that I didn't drag my foot as often and if I did drag by chance, it wasn't as much (long or dark). We've had every seat Buell makes for the Uly and I agree with Jmhinkle about the scuff issue and the comfort of the 07 seat. Kristi (Message edited by Ulywife on February 21, 2007) |

I've not tried it, but I bet one of those Mr. Clean magic erasers would take it off. I know they take scuff marks off the hard bags (I tend to drag my foot over the right bag). |

Mr. Clean magic erasers That's a good idea as they seem to have worked on anything I've tried, even sharpie marker on a butcher-block table. |

I clean mine with Simple Green and a little elbow grease. I don't ride with a passenger, but I have a tail bag mounted to the triple tail which leaves some residue on the seat. I do agree that the black seat would work much better. Then you could change out plastics at will and not have to buy a dang new seat. Would love to have a collection of airboxes and "number plates" for my bike. I could paint them, stripe them, etc. You see the airbox covers all the time on eBay. The number plates are harder to come by, but I'm betting its not a real expensive part to buy. |

I use Simple Green, Bounty paper towels, rubbing effort, water. I have also used a cleaner for plastics, just experiment with a hidden area under the edge to make sure what you are using doesn't screw up the material. Instead of trading out your lady, try helping her get on and off the bike. I do, and my wife thinks I do it because I still love her.(coming up 20 years in May). |

I'd vote for either the Mr Clean eraser or "Bleach-White" made for whitewalls which even with the name, is not bleach. |

westleys bleache white is great for removing mold release from tires. Use it with a scotch brite pad, and it works great. Not so sure if it wouldnt hurt the fabric on the seat though. |

Get your wife some orange sole dressing. Or, just hoist her on and off with a crane or block and tackle. |

Not so sure if it wouldnt hurt the fabric on the seat though. It's bad for some finished metal surfaces (like wheels), but I've never had a problem with it for spots on any vinyl, rubber, or plastic. As long as I rinsed it off well afterwards. |
