Anyone know the part number and price for a 2006 Uly voltage regulator? Mine has gone bad. I was thinking that if it is cheap enough, I would sooner replace it myself than drop it off at the dealer, arrange for a ride, wait for them to order it in, and then have to get a ride back down to pick it up.

Aeholton,
The part number for the 06 voltage regulator is: Y0302.02A8

I do not know what the price is.

Is the VR Buell-specific? Maybe another in-stock HD part would cross-reference.

Personally I'm getting tired of pre- ordering Buell parts to save me the hassle of a wait later. My Uly is a daily rider and my primary means of transportation by choice.

I checked on a drive belt today since I'm going on a trip soon but a local dealer told me "not in stock".

For cryin' out loud wouldn't you think a Buell dealer would keep some of the fundamental parts in stock for our bikes?

Just a heads up:
From what I've read here, when a regulator goes bad, it is common for the stator to crap out a bit later often taking out the new regulator!

I suggest popping the primary inspection cover and smelling for signs of burning stuff in there.

As for the cross reference, I am not sure. But I checked my 03 XL and it is an entirely different VR.

Will do. Thanks for the heads-up.

Replaced the voltage regulator. Gave the primary the sniff test (passed). Appears to be charging fine, now. I had 13.38 VDC at the battery while idling (only had 11.65 VDC and dropping prior to replacing the regulator). Woohoo!!!
