Went, saw, bought, rode a little under 350 miles. An amazing bike. The first Buell in my garage since the departure of the S3T, and I'm one happy camper. Once again, I know why there will always be a Buell in my garage.

I picked the high visibility orange color.

A few things stand out:

- The reduced seat height helps, a lot. At least, it did for me. The '06 with the stock seat was a no-go. The '07 with the stock seat works. I'm on my toes, but the Uly is so well balanced it doesn't matter. I do have trouble backing up though.

- Much smoother than my S3T

- The headlights on this bike are perhaps the best of any motorcycle I've ridden. The low beams are great, the highs are like a lightsaber.

- The airflow management is amazing, even with the stock postage stamp screen. No buffet at all.

I farkle a lot after eating Baked Beans and broccoli. White Castles also have the same effect.
Old Mil; just wait until it gets broken in. It gets even better.

My first attempt at farkling is going to be trying to add heated grips, my second a combo Garmin GPS/Satellite Radio unit.

Old_mil,

Congrats. You will truly enjoy this bike. It's more fun that should be legal.

Sorry about the school bus paint job. ;)

I've been looking on Ebay for one of those fold out "STOP" signs to mount on the side of the gas tank. I figure when I come to a red light, I can flip it out and the cagers behind me will have that much less of a chance of running me over.

So far, no luck.

It wouldn't matter if you set yourself on fire. This chick is going to plow you over while sipping a latte and discussing that new skirt she just bought:

Congrats on the new bike. Outstanding choice!

Check out the Garmin Zumo for a GPS. It rocks!

I've been beta testing it for the last couple of months. No, I don't sell them.

Congrats on the new ride and welcome to the world of PERMAGRIN...........
To enhance visibility without taking all the stop signs off of school busses, look at the OLYMPIA MOTOR SPORTS website and check the yellow AST jacket out. Got mine a month ago and it cause a lot of head turns and double takes from other drivers as well as pedestrians.

Out of curiousity, what's so nice about the Zumo? I've got a 2730 right now on my BMW that I may pull when I sell the bike.

You have to ride with one to really appreciate it, but I like it for a number of reasons. I get to ride with them all and just like it best for everyday use. The 2730 is a rock-solid platform too. I just thought you mentioned that you were in the market for a new one.

Either you're on medication or Buell have done major improvements to the lights from the 06, hope it's the latter!

Flyer,

That is on my short list. You wanna sell me your "tester" (I am serious btw.)?

What the hell do you need with a GPS. You can see from one end of the state to another!

If you stand on your car bumper, you can see the curvature of the earth.

Can't sell the test units. Besides, I am too much of a user to ever be a dealer.

Lowflyer_You sure do have that right. Sat out a storm for 25 minutes in Winchester last spring, then was able to plot a nice ride around the storm cells for the rest of the day. Not a drop of rain on the entire trip. Also just being a sort of curious fellow I think it is neat to know the wind speed, elevevations that I have traveled and also the ambient temps.

One last question...those of you who have mounted GPSs to the Uly, what sort of a system have you used? RAM balls + Brackets on the handlebars? Touratech mounts on the crossbar? Is the RAM system good enough to protect the unit from vibrations?

I used a RAM mount. The "U" bolt on the left side, and the one that uses the brake mounting bolts on the right.

Hey Brat, have you adjusted your headlights? When I got my Uly they only pointed about 10 yards in front of the bike....I loosened the torx on the bottom of the fender, pulled the lights up....BIOYA!! RETINA BURNER!!

Congrats Old Mill. The color of BuellAid is orange...and its very addictive.

Cmon Ft_bstrd. The GPS aint for when he is at home...all the roads are N-S/E-W around here. Its for when you find a state with some curves on the roads.

I have the Ram Camera mount currently mounted to the cross bar. You have to trim the ends of the U Bolt off a little, but it works great there as well.

Darrell,

You know Lowflyer never leaves the state. Kansans get nervous when they lose sight of the horizon. ;)

Hey, I've been to NE, MO, OK, AR and TX so far on the Uly. I'm no Kansan anyway. I'm a Texan (the lowest form of white man on earth). I just landed here by accident.

Texan? That explains a lot. ;)

I figured that the Garmin folks would just give you the "Johnny Mneumonic" GPS upgrade.

So with enough broccoli and white castles does he become Johnny Pneumatic?

Hey, don't laugh, it could be useful if it could power an impact for changing tires at the side of the road. Would NOT want to see the pix though.
