Unless of course Buell actually makes that V-Rod engined touring Buell. Either way the wife has to be able to fit on to it. Just love that XR-1200. What do you guys think?
Another thing. If Buell does use that V-Rod engine, no way would I buy it if the engine has to be dropped to service the valves. No way in Hell. Remember that Erik. Fact is, I don't even want to have to service the valves.

It just looks like a real poor attempt at a street tracker. An XR750 is exciting and serious looking all at the same time. On a scale of 10, it's a 3. .......Charlie

c'mon charlie, other than the night rod special it is the only Harley I look forward to riding for a weekend when we get one. But you are right, they could have made it a little more serious.

Looks alot like an xr750 to me. Not the TT model but the dirt track model. I think they did a good job. Like raven says one of the few HD's I would consider.

Not keen on the bloody pipes really. Missed opportunity. The rest? Yeah, I could go there.

But I had the hots for an XR750 since I was a kid... (back when a 750 was big). Move in the right direction.

In my opinion, the Sportster should be...well....sporty. This is a good start.

If they want to copy the XR750, then build it with some attitude from the inside out. Make it breath fire and lose those cheesy pipes. Make it where, when you look at it the hair on the back of your neck stands up(ya, I know Seth, I don't have any hair) but you know what I mean. They did this once before with the 883,I thought it looked better than this one.But it had no beans, at least build one with an XB motor so it won't embarrass it's self....Charlie

Very few products with the Harley badge are of interest to me. I do find that bike to be pretty good looking though. Much better than the regular Sporster for sure.

Red chili, if you are really hot for a XR750, you should find a '84 XR1000. At least it had the XR heads, twin carbs on the side, and twin megaphones exhaust on the proper side. I think a guy in Japan is making custom versions that are more street tracker like.
HD did the styling in the 70s with the XLCR, and the better looking engine in the 80s with the XR1000. I do not think this is a good step forward style-wise. Just IMHO!

Somebody will surely be making XR750 style exhaust systems for the XR1200. It's to bad this XR1200 isn't more a collaboration of Harley/Buell. I would just love to see the XR1200 with the Buell oil tank/swingarm and the Buell perimeter brake and light front wheel/axil. Now that would be the icing on the XR cake.
