After snapping a second lever, I decided it was time for a new approach. Birdmanrh hooked me up with a set of OEM levers. I shortened them by a couple of inches and coated them in Plasti Dip. They're still long enough to get all 4 fingers on them if needed, and hopefully they'll survive the next fall without breaking.   | ||

Very nice! May I suggest that you remove more material from the back side of the lever, at the cut off end, to create an angled end? Use a belt sander or file to angle and radius the cut off end, on the back side of the lever. When you are done, it will be like you had made the cut off at about 45 degrees. The radius and bevel help to avoid pinching a finger between the lever and the bar when using only two fingers or three fingers on the lever. Pinching is more likely to happen on the clutch side, but the brake lever can benefit with this profile, too. I removed about 2-1/4 inches from the front face of the front brake lever. I removed about 1-1/2 inches from the front face of the clutch lever. I have slender fingers. If your fingers are thicker, you may not want to remove as much material. I cut my levers with a 45 degree angle front to back. I removed less material from the front face of the lever than I removed the back face of the lever. The back face of the lever has about 1/4" more material removed from it than does the front face of the lever. Food for thought! Edit: The addition of the extra heavy HVMP Stainless Steel Bar Ends will also help to protect the levers.
