I was on my way to work this morning, and the low beam bulb blew out with a bright flash. What kind of cheap bulbs only last 17,414 miles and 10 months? I wonder if the bulb is covered by the warranty. Probably not; I'll have to get a Shyster and file a lemon law suit, or a suite lemonade or whatever. Those uncaring louts at the factory are probably rubbing their hands with glee, knowing that they're going to reap huge piles of cash from unsuspecting Uly owners who have no choice but to buy another bulb at Buell's typically overinflated prices.
First, I had to replace the rear tire at 7500 miles; now, the low beam blew out. This bike is sure getting to be a high maintenance item.

Crusty,

Hey, funny post.

Replace it with a Sylvania Silverstar... much brighter.

Hey, my engine fell out! But I am not complaining. At least the wheels stayed on and they are rolling nicely!

Hey Crusty, your low beam lasted longer than Carlos'! He also replaced the bulb with the Sylvania Silverstar and says it really makes a difference.

The master plan is to have everyone's low beam to blow out. That will generate more funds for the RR race effort.

You could always replace it with an HID kit!

My local dealer, Greensboro HD has an RR out on the floor next to an 07 Firebolt, a black 07 Uly, and an orange 06. I like the Firebolt the best, look wise, but my lower back likes the ULy better. I do like the 07 seat-might even be a tad lower than the Corbin low seat. Has someone done a side by side comparo of those two in another thread?

I assume you mean a comparison between the Firebolt and the Uly. I have test rode both. Different bikes for different purposes. Rode a number of Lightnings and the '07 Uly too. I still want the 1200 engine, riding position, and bags. Erik, without a Sport Touring version, I will be keeping my '06 Uly.

No, I meant the 07 Uly seat and the low Corbin seat. I apologize for my imprecision. Being an engineer I should know better.

All your bulbs are belong to us.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I have hella 65w bulbs high and low, and have not had a problem. I have performed the mod which allows me to run both beams at the same time on high.

But then again, I don't have 17,414 and/or 10 months on my Uly yet.

Thank you for the heads-up, Crusty! I went out today and replaced the stock bulbs with Silverstars, since at 11k I am sure I was ready to become a victim!

Daves says: The master plan is to have everyone's low beam to blow out. That will generate more funds for the RR race effort

please don't say that because I've only heard of one instance of a light bulb burning out and that could mean some lean times for Buell racing!
